It's how diversity is managed that's important.

I'm half Italian and half Greek yet Aussie born n bred.

I identify as an Aussie but I acknowledge my European ancestry (I'm full blooded European and I speak both Greek and Italian so it's pretty hard to ignore my ancestry).

My children (all born n bred in Australia) have Greek, Italian, Anglo Saxon, Celtic, French ( Gallic ), German (Saxon ) ancestry.

Now get this: they all identify as Aussies (but of European heritage). So they're Aussies ( who understand and celebrate their ancestral roots ).

They are Aussies FIRST. I am Aussie FIRST.

👆 This is how diversity works best IMO. By intermarriage. It also breeds out genetically linked illnesses/conditions which are prevalent in certain cultures/regions of the world.

Look I don't expect everyone to agree with me here and that's fine. I am speaking from personal experience here.

Example : My thalassaemia (minor) - Mediterranean blood disorder which I inherited from my mother has been lost in the gene pool. None of my children have it. 👉 Positive Genotype change.

Example : All my children have olive skin. That means better protection against melanoma etc. So they don't exhibit the white ghostly pasty freckly skin with moles. 👉 Positive Phenotype change.

Also ... mixed blooded kids are drop dead gorgeous and much better looking IMO. And I'm certainly not biased hey lol.

Every people has been conquered at some point in its history.
Why do Aborigines expect to be an exemption?

Their great fortune was that, being among the most primitive people on earth, they were conquered by the most advanced and benevolent society on earth.

The two are unevenly matched on an unprecedented scale.most conquered people in history could go back to their own ways after 200 years of foreign conquest. Aborigines couldn't. The historic leap they had to perform is enormous.

I think inhabiting a region for thousands of years counts as indigenous.

If that were not the case then most Europeans, including Greeks and Italians, could not claim to be natives of their respective regions.

It's essentially some ridiculous penalty land tax which was vomited by Lidia Thorpe et al for those who are not indigenous to Australia despite the fact that they were born n bred here. Oh AND if you've worked your butt off to buy land and/or a house...you get penalised for doing so.

This tax is currently being used as leverage with Albo (in order to help him get other policies over the line).

Seriously Labor will not last much longer if this brand of BS continues.

On which subject - that is precisely what the Abos were doing over and over for thousands of years - claiming and fighting over a piece of land - winner take all. There is no essential difference between the way they claimed 'their lands' and the way anyone on earth claimed theirs including colonies... so the Abos have no argument about being supplanted.... Gonski...

As I've explained to yez time and time again - the rules have changed .. nobody can any longer just come along and lay claim to lands.... you have to buy it - which is why the Chinese are buying up land here and elsewhere, such as the US - where a huge opposition to that is growing by the day.

My grandma and grandpa were born n bred there. My grand uncles and aunts too.
