Christians say god is pro–life.

Pointing out that Christians are hypocrites is therefor on topic.

Of course God is Pro Life! God created life. Life is all around us! It's in plants and animals and in human beings.

We ie humans have responded by systematically:

1. destroying ourselves and each other

2. destroying our natural environment by polluting the land, sea and air

3. abusing and destroying the vulnerable ie children and animals

In effect we have demonstrated that we are Anti Life.

I wasn't going to get into this but the topic has progressed so here it is :

In the Holy Bible God says quite clearly that His Spirit will not always strive with humanity.

Humanity has seen fit to continue to deny God, deny His existence even, deny His Word, deny His counsel.

And God Himself says that humanity will become as evil as it was back in the days of Noah before God visits this planet AGAIN. In judgement. God even talks about NATURE GROANING in agony. Yes our environment will be THAT abused by humanity that it will not be able to sustain healthy LIFE.

God allowed humanity to be destroyed back then ... with water. Next time God will do the same .... but with fire.

Atheists, agnostics and even God haters seem to think that God is some entity who functions according to their feeble finite minded ideas and rules regarding justice. God isn't their puppet. Nor is He their dog who exists to learn how to obey them.

Make no mistake ... if you continue to reject God, reject God's existence, reject God's holiness, reject God's laws regarding justice, reject God's offer of salvation and eternal life, reject God's Word....you are doomed to die and never see God's face or God's Heaven.

Your life here on Earth is tenuous. Even if you were lucky to live a long life here on Earth you'd be looking at a period of less than 100 yrs. And during those years your eyes will witness gross violence and abuse targeted at the health of people, our water supplies, our air, our environment, plants and those vulnerable such as children and animals....your eyes will see and your heart will be vexed by the agony suffered around you. Humanity's history blatantly records the relentless disrespect and disregard of all that God intended for us here on this planet. Planet Earth. It started with our first ancestors and continues to this day. Why? God created us with FREE WILL. Our choices reflect our free will. Our choices determine our future both here and afterwards.

Is God Pro Life? He's more than that...He's Pro Eternal Life!

Why do you think God sent His only Son Jesus here to this revolting hell hole? It was so that we who were once estranged could now return to God by choosing to accept God's invitation to save us. Save us from what? Our sins, mistakes, ourselves. Our ways are not His ways (the Holy Bible says this). Our ways consist of minefields riddled with mistakes and misery.

God's way is the way to life. Eternal Life. Everlasting Life. Not what WE think is life ... here on earth.

I'm not on OzPol to convince/convert anyone. I'm in this topic only because I'm answering a post directed at me.

I've got enough trouble trying to convince my own husband who is an avid agnostic. It's frustrating me no end. I refuse to accept the possibility of getting into Heaven and not finding him there. He means a lot to me. However .... and this isn't easy for me to post this: even if my own husband or child flatly refuse God's existence and God's invitation to come clean and repent of all past mistakes/sins....I can't do much more about it. Why? They have the FREE WILL to make their own choices.

Final thoughts : God says quite clearly that His Heavenly Kingdom will suffer VIOLENCE and THE VIOLENT will take it by force. But many will be left outside. Why? Their faith and belief was not violent/strong enough to push through. They dithered instead.

Which brings me back to Noah. At the last minute...people panicked and trampled over each other trying to get into the safety of the Ark. Unfortunately it was too late. God closed the door of that Ark firmly shut. Those who believed and maintained the faith ... got in and stayed safe. Everyone else chose ie exercised their FREE WILL to mock, to deny, to verbally abuse, ridicule and live their life according to how they saw fit ie totally rejecting God's laws and God's terms of justice.

The Ark represented the safety of God's Kingdom.

NOW is the time for you to decide if you want to be inside that kingdom or not. It's your decision. You have free will.

And you can forget about the idea of a death bed repentance and belief scenario too.

Those who think they can believe in the 11th hr die at 10.30.

Cheers

Happy Australia Day ( 31 degrees 🥺 )

You could hardly make a stronger case to support that God is not Pro Life.

You couldn't be more mistaken. In any event my posts were directed at the person who initially asked the question ie Greggary.

Ahh Greggary is offline. Never mind. Time for a cuppa ....and more pain relief. 🥺

There are two forces at work to affect our lives and how long we survive…
Apart from our own hands…murder, suicide, accident….
And those two are…..nature, and the guv’ment.

Gods seems to have no say in the matter.

Interesting post.

At the end of the day ... it's really all about FREE WILL ie our freedom to choose what decisions and actions we undertake in our life.

Our decisions and actions will reflect a blatant disrespect and disregard for the laws of justice which affect our society or they will reflect a regard and respect for them.

The same applies wrt our decisions and actions regarding God. We will either choose to blatantly disrespect and disregard Him/His laws as they pertain to justice or we will regard and respect them.

An observation/anecdote : I'm often told that God must be an awful and nasty entity if He rejects people and does not let them into Heaven.  It's the other way round : people reject God....they reject His very existence and relevance even. People CHOOSE to do the rejecting. Why? They have FREE WILL.

Just to confirm then: if a passage in the Bible talks about God doing something good, it's to be taken literally but if it's something bad it's just a "story" that never really happened?

Exactly. Free will.
Choices = outcome = consequences … and if one has a conscience … then choices can emanate from that.
I think that some spiritually divine energy can work through people to help people.
Haven’t we often thought how much of an angel some people are… after a event which can test all sorts of strengths and weaknesses within.
Then of course there’s a lower vibration of energy that can take advantage of people with less conscience to do unimaginable things and hurt so many.
We often hear of the way ice/drugs or copious alcohol can affect the mind body and soul in varying degrees.

What prevents a normal clear minded individual from saying… to hell with it all… there is no higher power (or a collective consciousness) to answer to… and go on a crime spree…is it some innate fear of the law or if there is judgement after we exit our bodies (temple for the soul) and discover another journey we didn’t count on, or were unaware of ? Is just being a good law abiding person enough?
What was the purpose of our lives?

Then we come to the fear of the unknown. Fear of dying etc
Hence expressions like “God fearing” … but if God is so loving and forgiving, then what is there to fear?
Would Hitler have been forgiven if he had sought redemption?

Once a week Christians that go to church on Sunday to clean the sheet so they can be tnucs for the following week.

Could YOU (plural) stick to the topic? Please? Or is that too much to ask? 😐

The followers of God & the teachings of Jesus are Christians are they not?

Christianity is riddled with hypocrisy/hypocrites.

People who pay scant regard for the laws of God through the week, yet think that by appearing pious by attending church every Sunday & confessing makes it ok to  do it all again the following week.

God & Jesus aren't here to guide their flock.

A merciful God wouldn't allow babies, infants, toddlers(the innocent) to die of terrible disease before their life has begun.

So the pro-lifers are hypocrites.

I would prefer to think that God is pro life but the evidence does not seem to support that position.

How much of the evidence is reliable is very debatable but that is what happens when none of the information about an of it is reliable.
