Wrong as always.

The 3rd world conditions in the remote community this bloke came from are real, even if concealed by the 'traditional lifestyle' in these remote communities (with poor housing, poor sanitation, low food quality); you wouldn't want to stay there for a day....

Whereas in places like the Alice, welfare dependency is managed tolerably well by locking up the drunks, until - as the thread title acknowledges - "Alice is out of control".

Whereas the ABC doesn't promote "emotional blackmail", it supports 1st nations' mythology, while ignoring the failure of the neoliberal economic system to eliminate the 3rd world conditions in remote communities and welfare dependency elsewhere.

‘’ So the Declaration is based on EVERYONE'S "rights", not "rights" based on SELF- interest’’

Based on everyone’s self interest.

Your error (we'll get there in the end...):

"Everyone's" self interest is an oxymoron, since each has his own self-interest which may or may not coincide with Universal Rights, as identified in the UN UDHR.

In short, the right to work under acceptable conditions, without threat of war.

How about the right to self defence against unlawful aggression?

What about it?

A brief history of "rights" for you; individuals have possessed the right to self-defence since the beginning of time, based on the survival instinct of individuals, formerly expressed as 'an eye for an eye' (before Jesus said 'turn the other cheek', implicit in the Sermon on the Mount: "blessed are the peace makers").

Which explains why this is the ONE  right you want discuss above all other rights,  thereby rendering inoperable  the concept of universal rights.

The UN UDHR is concerned with identifying rights belonging to all by virtue of being human.
.......

So a black man from a desperately-low socio-economic economic background is apprehended for stealing goods from a supermarket: he abuses the security guards, they wrestle him to the ground.

So a struggle ensues.

Cause of death (not examined by a coroner, of course): poverty entrenched by an evil economic system based on "free" individuals competing in "free" markets - which demonstrably entrenches socio-economic disadvantage, violating Article 23 of the UN UDHR.

Even Trump is railing against the present system: "the world is raping the US"(!).

And you - with your 'individual rights" delusions, want to stick your nose into an ideological dispute in  China re Taiwan which is a Chinese province -   a dispute which is now causing Trump to upend the world trading  system,  so he can "save the free world".

So - re the 'right to self defence': it's a given and doesn't  require listing among the universal rights of mankind, rights which require social organization based on more than self-interest, if men are to advance beyond the chaotic social relations which are threatening our very existence in a globalized world.

‘Payment rates
As at 20 March 2023, the maximum fortnightly JobSeeker payment for a single person with no children was $693.10. The maximum fortnightly Youth Allowance (other) payment for a single person with no children, over 18 and living at home, was $389.40, or if they are living away from home $562.80’’

Leaving aside this bloke was disabled  and unabled to be cared for in his community which lacked the resources to care for him, Job Seeker is below poverty level, as everyone acknowledges:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjtgb3D...

Quote:
What’s wrong with this unfortunate young man paying, he's got money.

He was under the care of disability services in the Alice; the question is why was he in a supermarket while unsupervised?

Quote:
‘’Article 3.
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.’’

Which is impossible while the threat of war remains, as we are seeing all over again; the enforced slavery of all of us to the military industrial complex  destroys our liberty as resources are diverted to prepartions for war.

Which Eisenhower insightfully described as: "Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron".

Quote:
Which embodies the right to self defence and, logically, the right to the means of such defence.

You claiming logic is an oxymoron, as to be expected from asserting the primacy of individual  self-interest over collective well-being.

A balance between the two is vital for human wellbeing.

No solutions then?

You dementing? You've been told many times, in short, an economy which works for all.

You have more brain cells than stars in the milky way.....what a waste......

And - HOW do YOU propose to make it all work better for all?  enough of the motherhood statements - meanderings of possible intent.. HOW are YOU going to achieve this?

By educating politicians that the privilege of creating money, currently restricted  to private sector agents alone,  is the reason why governments can't eradicate poverty.

Quote:
the potential number of intra-neural connections in one human brain could control the universe at the molecular level ... what a waste yours is ......

Wrong even here: no human brain can control the universe; but humans who use their brains CAN create an economy which works for all.

But the economic 'flat-earth' idoelogues are still in control.

So Trump - in a confused  'make or break' effort  - is shaking the flat-earthers up in a big way....stay tuned.

An economy that works for all...

Brazil sues China carmaker BYD over 'slave-like' conditions
BBC

Then  China shouldn't be making cars in Brazil  (I'll ignore the anti-Chinese bias of the BBC, in order to address your argument);  but dysfunctional WTO trade rules have led to Trump's 'revolution', and his misplaced tariffs which are supposed to remove income taxes from Amercians while raising revenue from tariffs on the rest of the world -  certainly not an example of "an economy which works for all".

“By educating politicians that the privilege of creating money, currently restricted  to private sector agents alone,  is the reason why governments can't eradicate poverty. “

More generalisation and motherhood statements - nothing of true value, social or otherwise – lack of action.

“Wrong even here: no human brain can control the universe; but humans who use their brains CAN create an economy which works for all. “

Your English is as bad as your Chinese – it said 'POTENTIALLY' – nothing 'wrong' about the statement.  Clearly you do not understand intra-neural connections.... and are mistaking 'reasoning' for 'brain function' - that is very common amongst the flat earthers called trannies, who confuse 'their inerpretation of feelings' with actual brain working.... one is the hardware - the other the software, and often the software is very soft.

Trump is shaking up all the turkeys... but at heart he is one of what YOU call 'flat earthers' with the same views on money, and his focus is on bringing home the bacon for the 'lower class' folks.

There is no bias in facts......................... though the facts under discussion may be biased... for example - if a Chinese factory in Brazil uses slave conditions for workers - THAT is a bias towards the old Mandarin class structure of Chinese Feudalism - if someone comments on that bias - that is simply a fact.

Progressive action begins with thinking (as opposed to action which is reflexive and instinct-based, like Sir Eoin's 'self-defence' actions  - a 'right', no less, no thinking required,  just kill or be killed...hoping you survive the 'self-defence' conflict.

As opposed to progressive thinking which is then spread by education.  "The pen is mightier than the sword".

Quote:
Your English is as bad as your Chinese – it said 'POTENTIALLY' – nothing 'wrong' about the statement.

Your "individual freedom" ideology causes you to persist with your errors: the infinite universe cannot (even 'potentially') be controlled by humans; we don't even know what the universe is because humans can't comprehend infinity.

Quote:
Clearly you do not understand intra-neural connections.... and are mistaking 'reasoning' for 'brain function'

Wrong again: intra-neutral connections create consciousness and the ability to reason; the (whole) brain acts/functions as a CPU for bodily functions (including thinking).

Quote:
-the flat earthers called trannies, who confuse 'their inerpretation of feelings' with actual brain working.... one is the hardware - the other the software, and often the software is very soft.

Sef-interest influences thinking in negative as well as positive ways, yes we know that already.

I'd say trannies (0.1% of the population - why do you keep referencing them?) have their own issues, like gays once had, but have since mostly been dealt with by society.

Unlike the task of creating an economy which works for all, a task which remains to be fulfilled; can you assist - by engaging some of the neurons you were born with?

Yes.  Hence the need to view money creation as a necessary function of government alongside money creation by self-interested private agents.

Trump's attempts to MAGA via tariffs will alienate the rest of the world even if he succeeds in restoring manufacturing jobs in the US without causing a 'price infaltion' recession in the US.

Unless an IMF/World Bank is instituted with the authority to create money in any currency.

I'll let a discussion of media bias pass - I did say I would address Frank's post, and I did.

As for "facts", your "freedom" ideology renders your understanding of facts hopelessly flawed; eg, you still haven't  acknowledged the proven  correlation between poverty and crime.

Thoughts must translate into actions - thinking and 'feeling' your way is not going to solve the problems.

What ACTIONS are you proposing?

For what reason do I need to discuss any correlation between poverty and crime?  EVERYONE knows there is a given that SOME people living in poverty will turn to crime....

Don't spend so much time trying to find some lever in discussion by grasping at the bleedingly obvious ... give us your SOLUTIONS!

I've offered the very best solution to date - a Homeland all of their own where they can do things their way and in accordance with the demands put forth during the 'voice' nonsense....

Go then - be one with your culture
- I said - and everyone screamed that it was I being the 'racist' and not those who were demanding their own state, their own sovereignty, their own ownership of everything they could see, their own seats in Parliament, Apartheid, segregation, control over land, water and resources, and so forth...

Now then - about those CRIMINALS??

What is your proposal to fix their problems?

First get them onboard with the idea of going to work.....   Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin

Long ago, Jesus, on his way to Heaven, dropped by and viewed his Abo children in all their glory..... leaving them he said - "Don't do anything until I get back...."
