Yes, the first internationally recognized declaration of universal prosperity and peace for all nations

The UN UDHR is concerned to:

1. ensure everyone can prosper in an economy which works for all - see Article 23.

2. ensure everyone can live without the threat of war.

So the Declaration is based on EVERYONE'S "rights", not "rights" based on SELF- interest.

More crippled analysis: the UN - after voting to partition Palestine, failed to ensure the recognition, establishment and security of the two states (as per UN res 181) in the face of opposing ideologies of individual groups who preferred to wage war against one another - as opposing ideologies are want to to do, which is why we need a UNSC which can defend UN resolutions.
