Well, finish school and you'll have white man's technology and know how.
It is called civilising effect.

See #410; a supportive family in a functional community is a necessity, to finish school.

Well, get functioning and supportive, then, ffs.

Your error: kids can't change poor parental role models in socio-economically  blighted communities. Do try to keep up.

It's entirely within their own control.

Nonsense, you are expecting kids in these communities to be young geniuses, despite the fact poverty is correlated with crime.

Government spending solves so many problems! It must solve problems, right? Otherwise, they wouldn't keep doing it!

Your error: government spending informed by neoclassical NAIRU economists, as at present, merely wastes money on the poverty industry, instead of eradicating poverty and ensuring employment for all.

(see the latest MMT post).

And, there you have it! So many problems, solved by the wise and powerful people in government! Thanks, government spending!

Get back to me when the government is actually eradicating poverty.

Did they cause poverty in remote communities?

Poverty/Comparative Poverty - different issues.

The ONLY long term solutions for UNEQUAL INCOME AND PROSPERITY in Australia are:-

. fixing the lack of - indeed the impossibility of - any equal distribution in 'jobs' across the nation
. fixing the lack of genuine forward planning and infrastructure (planning and implementation) that will secure a future for the nation and its people
. fixing the inherent unwillingness of some to move with the times
. controlling immigration and arranging a general integration and assimilation so that all may pull in the same direction (generally)
. listening to people like me who know stuff

Glassing, punch-ons: Fears violence becoming ‘worse’ in Top End suburb

As alcohol-fueled violence continues to rock the streets of Palmerston neighbourhood, residents, business owners and a local member are now calling on authorities to crack down on the wild hotspots troubling their suburb.

What? People calling for a politically incorrect solution.
That will never do.

Where is your empathy for the rape victim?

Non existent - you are a Psychopath.

I have actually seen this sort of stuff as a first responder while you sip Soy Lattes in the inner city and read Marx.

That child is ruined for life and you belittle her.

You are a Grandiose Narcissist.

Yes, due to  colonialization ("we smashed their culture").

Do try to keep up.

Homelessness, or overcrowding in poorly manintained homes,  or unemployment and grog abuse, are all faces of poverty.

Stop kicking and screaming in the face of reality: poverty (whether "comparative' or not) is correlated with crime.

Quote:

I think you mean the only solutions for poverty and inequality; "UNEQUAL INCOME AND PROSPERITY" are opposites, apart from the error in "UNEQUAL" - no-one is calling for equal incomes;  do try to keep up.

Quote:
. fixing the lack of - indeed the impossibility of - any equal distribution in 'jobs' across the nation

Your error: jobs for all (not "equal distribution", a nonsense term - someone has to do the sh*t jobs, and should be highly paid) is a responsibility of government, not an impossibility.

Quote:
. fixing the lack of genuine forward planning and infrastructure (planning and implementation) that will secure a future for the nation and its people

Not too bad, except for your 2nd and 4th points:  YOU are unwilling to move with the times re a Job Guarantee (google it); and your last point is delusional.

How about fixing the poverty and alienatioin causing the crime?

Politically - actually economically -  incorrect?

How did "we smash their culture" in the remote areas of Australia?

Which part of their culture are they not free to practice? (A part from the most violent and barbaric bits).

Lower caste Abos were banished to the interior.
Hence why a group of them willingly came out of their isolation into the helping hands of a globally saved Australia.

By collarring them into remote settlements, destroying their h-g economy.

Quote:

The h-g economy, which relies on unrestricted  access to vast swathes of poorly resourced land in desert Oz.

And as for their culture in towns like the Alice and Darwin etc - the "smashed culture" is all too plain to see.

They have unrestricted access to vast swathes of land. They can hunt and gather to their hearts content. They never have to set foot in towns.
