I want to make clear...I am not seeking to minimse the loss to the family of the deceased coppers, but I refuse to buy into this bravery crap until the authorities explain to me exactly what they are relying upon to deify these people who died doing the most menial of all possible police work. Before they left to do the job, they were all said to be joking around and laughing about it. It was mundane, a nothing job...hence the total absence/lack of preparation for what transpired.

Far cough with the emotive, the public memorial, the medal awarding rubbish.

Wouldn't you say that anyone who loses their life doing their job is a hero?

I agree with Sophia - there is more to this than meets the eye... you'd have to have some powerful secret you wanted to hide to start blazing away at a couple of cops in plain sight without even a weapon in their hands ... then the cold execution of wounded on the ground.... relentless pursuit of a lone female .... clearly these people had some war game in mind.....

I have my suspicions.... they needed one of them alive.......

... doing their job with no intention of harming anyone.... if the station had suspicions of something badly wrong they would have taken more steps etc.... this was a war game that was one-sided... can't say I'm not happy they're dead - but they needed one alive to talk.... be interested to know how the sheila died.... police gunfire or .... generally she would be the weak link and readier to talk...

And all this little set up warning alerts around their place was to warn them if anyone (cops) were approaching. I saw a vid of him saying the cops wanted him dead.

I don't see anything apart from one cock up after another in dealing with these people.

NSW Police website listed him as missing on 8th December if it was more serious he would be wanted and if they followed up on firearms offences there would have been possibly armed warning.

Sending 4 cops is not unusual 2 were rookies they could watch and learn. Sometimes not much happening in remote areas.

They posted youtube video during shootout appeared batshit crazy in bragging about killing police.

It's never going to end well if you kill police. There was no escape plan if you had Stinger missile maybe you could take out helicopter that tracks you with thermal imaging although unlikely as those thermal cameras can pick up man size person at 10-12 Km which might be out of range for missile. A Javelin missile would toast bearcat vehicle getting them to back off. In country area like that there is no escape against modern technology so unless they stopped shooting and surrendered it was always going to end with their deaths.

There are reports the offenders were Meth users so for me if toxicology from their autopsy shows Meth in their systems that would explain why this happened.

People become irrational and batshit crazy on Meth i think it's worse than Heroin.

So soldiers who have sacrificied their lives not knowing what they faced and did nothing heroic apart from dying in a hail of bullets should be accessed for bravery before being celebrated as anything more than cannon fodder....Any police officer who dies in the line of duty deserves respect for their sacrifice....Who are we to judge their bravery in the line of fire???

This man was toted as “missing” … not per se “wanted”.
Even though someone here mentioned he was known to police.

Now why would the NSW big knob cops be so determined to find a missing person … an adult… and knowing he’s alive…
…what was the huge importance there?
Known to cops? Yet have no history or record of doing any wrong?
So they had some association with cops?
Then they had to flee with their lives and go into hiding. Once found… goodness knows what fate awaited them with the big knobs.
You see…. something else went down and this ex prin exposed something at the time. Named names. He was a teacher and worked with children remember?
His life was at a point they knew they were cactus. Why then he suddenly fled?
I saw that video they made… they (male and female) stated “they came to kill us….”
They seemed very clear and not drug hazed at all.
When someone flees and goes into hiding… they are fearful… scared … and the nsw big knob who ever it was, ordered to go find them… knowing he would be scared. But didn’t know they were ready to defend themselves to the end… not give in… their lives were over whether captured alive or not. Either way… they chose death.
Now what was it that made a grown educated adult so fearfilled to have to flee?
