Google maps stopped working on my mobile the other day. When I searched for something, the only results that came up were other recent searches, until I got a message saying "something went wrong". After trying a dozen different things, I figured out it was because I had changed the password on my gmail account via my computer, which logged me out of the google account on the phone, which somehow stopped google maps from working. This happened in the middle of a work trip in another city when I needed it to get around.

I could not google the fix.

I think it is google's way of making sure you are logged in when you use their maps, so they can track where you go.
