Your error: in January 2020, NO-ONE knew how bad covid would be - except that it was highly contagious and deadly...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

(and if Covid HAD been a 2nd 'black-death', the ensuing 2 year total lockdown would have finally exposed the lies about government debt which "must be repaid ", as the debt required to support locked-down workers soared to multi $trillions.....)

Meanwhile, back to FD's ideologically blind "freedom" ideology - which is headed for the dustbin of history if humans are to survive and prosper on this finite planet....

No it didn't:

(google)

The policies of Mao Zedong were criticized. The failure of the Great Leap Forward as well as the famine forced Mao Zedong to withdraw from active decision-making within the CCP and the central government, and turn various future responsibilities over to Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping.

Whose picture is on that wall in central Peking, bozo?

The founder of the CCP over century ago; times have changed, but he is still revered as the founder of one-party government - which after Deng has created the "Chinese miracle" - which has Western "freedom" ideologues s**ting their pants.

On the contrary, the CCP will prove the advantages of a one-party system for creating sustainable common prosperity - impossble in a competitive, individual profit-driven market economy.

Leftism wont be defeated in the US because mean wages have flatlined for decades and inequality is soaring to pre-GD levels;  eg, Leftism is alive and kicking in NY, where 'socialist' Mamdani defeated both the Dem and Repub candidates (both of whom are useless free market ideologues).

Adversarial two-party democracies will have to prove their own worth - it's not looking good for them.

Are you completely unable to comprehend the point to which you imagine you are addressing?

NO responsible government, at the start of the pandemic, could have ignored the possibility of a 10% (or worse)  death rate.

"Wishes"?  for a black death? ......... you ARE completely unable to comprehend a logical argument. Deplorable. Your govt. debt delusions would certainly have been  exposed by a severe pandemic with >10% mortality.

No. Xi only has to step back and watch free market ideologues destroy themselves as cost of living amid soaring inequlaity destabilizes their democracies. (Xi of course has to contend  with curruption, the spoiler of any society).

Your  error: the death rate was unknown at the start, hence the lockdowns - to avoid accusations of govt inaction later on.

But you, being ideologically blind and mentally crippled, can't explain what "fallacies" are being projected.

He is building more 'quick coal', to serve as a bridge while also buiding more time- comsuming renewables with required storage and smart grid (and long-distance DV transmission lines  etc), while also transitioning to renewables at faster rate than any nation.

And also assisting 3rd world countries to bypass the filthy fossil phase altogether, on the path to modernization.

But according to the renewables gospel it is quicker and cheaper to build renewables. Now you are saying it just isn't true. Roll Eyes

Since Xi announced no new coal plant in 2021, they haven't stopped, according to reports

"Over the three years following the pledge, a total of 42.8 GW of projects have been cancelled, resulting in a total avoided 4.5 billion tonnes of cumulative lifetime carbon emissions. Yet, 52 power plants remain in the permitted, pre-permit, and construction phases, representing a total additional capacity of 49.5 GW. According to our analysis, cancelling these plants could prevent 202.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually, totalling an estimated 5.1 billion tonnes by 2050.

The last year has seen an additional 3.4 GW from previously unannounced overseas power projects advanced directly into the construction phase and 4.9 GW into the pre-permit phase. At least three of these proposed projects are for coal power generation — 1.5 GW in Kyrgyzstan, Zambia and Zimbabwe —in direct violation of the 2021 pledge. Additionally, 700 MW of China-backed coal capacity that had been shelved in the past has been pushed forward or revived in the last year."

Yes. Governments have different responsibilities than the likes of you.

An "if" scenario - a possibility, eg the spanish flu did happen - which would explode  your govt. debt delusions...

Unlike Albo who is captured by Neoclassical economists, I'm happy to admit the transition  to fully-backed renewables takes more time, and is more expensive than building new filthy coal plants; but when the transition is completed, electricity from renewables will be much cheaper than coal.

(google)

China is increasingly bypassing fossil fuels in favor of renewable energy projects in Africa, particularly in Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Djibouti. These investments focus on solar, hydro, wind, and geothermal projects rather than coal, aligning with a broader strategy to dominate the continent's green energy sector and infrastructure.

Yes, a "possibility". What was the possibility of it being worse than Spanish Flu? Did they ruun anything, apart from the bogus epidemiology studies. You know like the failed EPA PM2.5 study, the Linear No Threshold studies. Roll Eyes

So you agree on cost and timing but disagree on savings. So somehow costs and savings can be somehow netted out? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

And that doesn't even take in the cost of replacements. Which will require bigger footings for bigger turbines, which will require greater separation of the turbines. Solar panels MAY be replace in situ, but whole areas would have to be isolated whilst it was done. More costs to achieve the "cheaper than fossil fuels". Grin Grin Grin Grin

Bernie Sanders Praises China For Eradicating Poverty By Killing All The Poor People

U.S. - Senator Bernie Sanders offered words of praise for China's successful reduction of poverty in many parts of the country by killing off all the poor people through government control of the economy.

Sanders pointed out that the country has been very successful in eliminating vast swathes of poverty and also the poor.

"America still has a lot of poor people, and that's because we haven't been aggressive in implementing socialist programs that cause mass starvation," Sanders said, his fingers flopping around like ten tiny wacky inflatable tube men. "Firing squads, death camps, breadlines---all of these are humanitarian tools in the arsenal of the government to shoot poverty in the face, and sometimes also the poor in the face, when it's necessary."
