Bbut...bbut... that's what you always do, Bbwian, repeat the yyyawning and tttut tut and eyerolling endlessly.
Why did it stop and when? Who knows? But more importantly, on your 'people change" point - if Aboriginrs can change this aspect of their cultural practice - why can't they change other practices that exclude them from modern life? Why not give up wife beating, tribal and clan violence?
It would be good to know what made them stop some practices deeply rooted in 40,000 years of their culture but not others. Can we apply whatever made them give up ritual cannibalism to behaveiours around drunken violence and abuse?
This is not about cannibalism but leaving primitive ways behind, Bbwian. You say they have changed. But why did many stop at giving up this cultural ritual but not the others that cause their mystery and self-inflicted "disadvantage".
Did they CHOOSE to give up ritual cannibalism on their own volition or did Europeans make them stop? What are the lessons here? Voice them, to coin a phrase, and truthfully, Bbwian.
