Absolute BS as shown by the Court changing it by interpretation in 2008.

The Second Amendment had one defined meaning from 1791 to to 2008 and then a completely different (bogus) interpretation from 2008 to today. Previously the 2nd amendment was interpreted in terms of the words that make up the amendment. Today that isn't the case.

Yes, Panther, but you've left the US for a country with gun laws. You're safe from mass shooters. You have no gun in your holster or under your bed. Not only that, but you support a politician who publicly supports terminating your fine constitution.

Ducky's lucky you get to vote, no? I, for one, hope he's kept safe from any stray bullets.

You?

No the real stats show that many if not most gun owners want more safety and reasonable rules to be put in place.

Reasonable gun owners do not support school shootings any more than any one else. It is only a small minority of nutters who like to see school children shot to death.

No, it is all about how you ask those questions. Fatherless homes seem to be the greatest contributor to criminal behavior! The solution is simple, go to Church, get Married and raise a Family! As the illegitimacy rate goes up so does crime! Putting restrictions on my life may make you feel better but does nothing to make a safer society.

Quick, Mort! Check under your bed, there could be a Communist Democrat hiding there, reporting to the Police to tell them to come and take your guns!  Quick, before it's all too late.  March on the capital, march on Washington, storm the Capital! Oust those Communist Democrats! Hang them all!  They want your guns!   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

There you go just being silly. The government doesn't want to take my guns. Just last week they sold me one of their surplus 1911s from storage.

That's an easy claim to prove, Mort. Simply show the fatherless backgrounds of all the mass shooters since, I don't know, Columbine. Prove the naysayers wrong.

Quote:
Seung--Hui Cho, a 23-year-old who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech in 2007, was raised by both a father and a mother. So was George Hennard, who killed 23 people in Killeen, Texas, in 1991; Charles Whitman, who killed 17 people at the University of Texas in Austin in 1966; Nidal Malik Hasan, who fatally shot 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009; Jiverly Wong, who killed 13 in 2009 in Binghamton, New York; and Aaron Alexis, who fatally shot 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard in 2013. James Huberty, who killed 21 people at a McDonald's in the San Ysidro neighborhood of San Diego, California, in 1984, was raised by a single father (and later a father and stepmother) after his biological mother abandoned the family.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/mass-shooters-fatherless-us/

You could, of course, say oh, you just meant [i]some
mass shooters. Or you could say the fact-checkers are lying. So typical of the leftards.

What's it going to be?

The NRA is out of the game until it at least gets new leadership. It never was about the gun industry or the NRA protecting profits. The rest of us are fighting back to protect our Rights and your strawman is no longer part of it! We don't need them to stand against this oppressive government!

The NRA wasn't started to protect rights, Mort. It used to be about promoting gun safety and responsible gun ownership.

If you wanted to protect human rights, I'm sure you would have shared that one with us before.

It is a historical artifact at this point, it doesn't have devil dust or something stupid like that in the handles! If you are afraid just say guns are iccky and seeing one turns your bowels loose. They are just machines and can't do anything without human assistance.

For decades that was all they did because there wasn't an open assault on our rights. They missed the opportunity to stand up for the American people in 1934 and stood by in 1968 until they decided to form ILA to fight for our rights. The Institute For Legislative Action branch of the NRA was formed to stand against the government. The NRA is still just about safe and responsible gun ownership! This is old information and you must have missed it.

Try telling that to the parents of the 2070 accidental shootings in the past five years, Mort.

https://www.npr.org/2021/08/31/1032725392/guns-death-children

259 in 2021. 104 deaths. Numbers rise each year.

Should those kids have rights too?

There you go just being silly. The government doesn't want to take my guns. Just last week they sold me one of their surplus 1911s from storage.

Thats not the message Panther tells us, Mort.  Be careful, you'll be branded a, "traitor" by the NRA, you'll never able to hold your head up high when you attend a meeting of the Klaven...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

For decades that was all they did because there wasn't an open assault on our rights. They missed the opportunity to stand up for the American people in 1934 and stood by in 1968 until they decided to form ILA to fight for our rights. The Institute For Legislative Action branch of the NRA was formed to stand against the government.

Formed by the GOP to stand against the Clinton administration if I'm not mistaken.

The NRA is merely a branch. They don't have to declare donations either, which is how Putin got away with supporting Trump in 2016, laundering political donations through the NRA.

Quote:
Ex-Moscow banker Alexander Torshin, who was sanctioned last year, and his gun rights protege Maria Butina, who in late 2018 pleaded guilty to being a Russian influence agent and is now cooperating with US law enforcement, spent years cozying up to the NRA and some of its leaders. Their goal was to “establish unofficial lines of communication with Americans having power and influence over US politics”, according to Butina’s later plea agreement.

Questions about the NRA’s Moscow ties and the gun group’s role in the 2016 elections were also spurred when McClatchy reported last year that the FBI was looking into allegations that Torshin and other Russians may have improperly funneled Russian funds into NRA coffers as part of its record setting $30m in pro-Trump spending.

You're right, Mort. The NRA's sole purpose is not weapons sales.

It's about keeping the GOP in power at all costs.

You really live in some dark fantasy world. Until the Presidency of Bill Clinton many democrat members of congress were strong gun rights supporters. Democrat Senators and Representatives from conservative districts regularly voted pro second amendment! Many were life members of the NRA. There was a day when Clinton gathered democrat members of congress for a photo op where he instructed them to vote party line in the future and not for the best interests of the people who elected them. Ever since only a few rarely vote against the Party. It was possible to be a conservative democrat until that consolidation of power went into effect. People that didn't go along lost in their primaries or retired.

Clearly your point of view has nothing to do with public safety or you might care about fentanyl overdoses or medical mistakes each of which cause more then one hundred thousand deaths annually in the US.

The only difference between a Communist and a Democrat is the spelling.
