Origin Energy buyout
Nov 10th, 2022 at 12:59pm

It is a shame that a Canadian consortium seems to be the only ones with the nous to see a bright future in renewable and gas backup energy ...

Offering to buy out Origin Energy at a 50% premium to the current share price for $18.4 Billion and intending to invest a further $20 Billion in expanding the business.  Shocked

Pending the deal gaining: shareholder / company / regulator approval it should happen in Jan 2023

On the other hand as a current shareholder...

Indeed.

Australian politicians, State and Federal, blaming Putin for rising domestic energy insecurity and prices  is an outrageous lie and cop out, well illustrated by Leak.

LOL... it was the Liberals who did exactly that.

Kennett privatised our essential services such as public transport,
electricity, gas and water distribution, and even the state-owned
gambling group, the Totalisator Agency Board, raising billions of
dollars.  He also sold off numerous state school properties, and
planned to build three new private hospitals financed by overseas
investors.

So now, because of past Liberal policies, more than half of Victoria's
infrastructure is owned by overseas companies.
