Covid does not Cause Myocarditis or Pericarditis

How many times have we been told that "Covid vaccines may cause myocarditis, but Covid itself causes myocarditis too"

Turns out that's probably not the case.

A new large-scale Israeli study of 196,992 unvaccinated adults after [testing positive for] Covid showed that “Covid infection was not associated with either myocarditis or pericarditis.”

CONCLUSION

Our data suggest that there is no increase in the incidence of myocarditis and pericarditis in COVID-19 recovered patients compared to uninfected matched controls. Further longer-term studies will be needed to estimate the incidence of pericarditis and myocarditis in patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

There was an increased risk of myocarditis in the 1 to 28 days after a SARS-CoV-2–positive test, which was higher if infection occurred before vaccination (IRR, 11.14 [95% CI, 8.64–14.36]) than in vaccinated individuals (IRR, 5.97 [95% CI, 4.54–7.87]).

No it doesn't. All it is saying is that based on a very small sample size the control group had about the same number of cases of Myocarditis or Pericarditis as the test group.

The numbers were something like 9 and 11 cases.

The study I posted is much larger and came to a different conclusion.

There was an increased risk of myocarditis in the 1 to 28 days after a SARS-CoV-2–positive test, which was higher if infection occurred before vaccination

If memory serves, increased myocarditis and pericarditis were attributed to the non-Oxford vaccines, not covid.

Yes a little under 43 Million people.

This is the number of Myocarditis or Pericarditis cases your study's result depends on: (from the link to your report)

These are not the type of robust numbers needed to come to any conclusion.

You made it sound like the numbers in your test were impressive but not so when you are dealing with a problem impacting 0.002% of patients.

Another righty I would assume who is strong on insults but deficient in fact.

In short when you look at 100,000 odd people you get no discernable difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated with Myocarditis or Pericarditis.

When you increase the sample to over 20 Million you see that more unvaxed have a problem with Myocarditis or Pericarditis than vaxed.

I actually took the time to read the report, and the only mention of any vaccine
was inconsequential; "In the current large population study of subjects, who were
not vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, we observed no increase in the incidence of
myocarditis or pericarditis from day 10 after positive SARS-CoV-2".

The referenced study included only subjects of Arab, Bedouin, and Jewish ethnicity,
which of course is known to skew results globally.

No statistical difference in the incidence rate of both myocarditis and pericarditis
was observed between the COVID-19 cohort and the control cohort.

At no point was the claim that any vaccines caused myocarditis and pericarditis made
in the report—which was focussed solely on "long COVID".

This is typical of the willful misrepresentation of medical facts posted by the anti-vaxxer
fraternity—and people here like Reggie. Their desperate claims made in order to
support their absurd, unevidenced beliefs can safely be ignored.

In fact, Reggie is obviously unable to provide any link proving that COVID vaccinations
causes myocarditis or pericarditis in healthy individuals without any pre-existing and/or
contributing medical conditions.
