Xi Jinping’s epic bungling of Trump backfires on China

Xi Jinping and his council of yes men have made a series of epic blunders over the last six days — and they look poised to make China’s disaster even worse.

After Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” announcement last Thursday, all leaders around the world except for one took essentially the same strategy: they sat on their hands and hoped international share markets would force America’s president to overturn his tariff apocalypse.

A few, like the leaders of Vietnam, Japan and South Korea, spoke directly — and respectfully — to America’s president and tried to negotiate improved trade terms with the world’s biggest economy. However much they disliked Trump’s policy, and even Trump himself, they thought this the smartest strategy.

President Xi and his loyal comrades took an entirely different approach. They hit back — and hard. They wanted to show the world that China would not be pushed around.

During his twelve years in power, Xi’s management of the egos of American presidents has been about an ongoing debacle. It has been during his reign that much of America’s business community turned on China. It was his choice not to accommodate at least some of America’s concerns about China’s economic practices back when Barack Obama, or Trump the first, or Joe Biden were in office.

Now, with an ego to match his own back in the White House, there is no reason to think that is about to change. For many in China, these are grim times indeed. And the darkening isn’t over yet.

Tellembuggerem.  They slapped tariffs on us for simply floating the idea of a transparent inquiry into the origins of  the ChiComm virus.

Strange. Vlad and Kim were nowhere to be sent, and they got zero tariffs.

Cunning, no?

Oh, I see. And which part of your DL's administration sanctioned them, dear boy?

XINJIANG PROVINCE — Prisoners in the notorious Xinjiang concentration camp have expressed deep concern about America being such a mean bully to China.

After years of being tortured in Chinese government re-education centers, the prisoners were aghast at the news that America was singling out China for punishing tariffs.

"How could America be so mean to the Chinese government? It's really shocking," said prisoner Jin Shuren. "Those of us here in the concentration camp are taking time between being tortured to write letters asking America to stop being such a bully. What has China ever done to deserve this?"

At publishing time, Chinese authorities have shed new light on the famous protester who faced down tanks in Tiananmen Square, explaining that the man was actually protesting America being a bully.

No,  the separatist, terrorist 'prisoners' in Xinjiang's "notorious concentration camps" are colluding with the US, to maintain their fictional 'genocide' accusations against China.

They should be thankful China doesn't adopt the US (and Israeli) method for dealing with terrorists, namely, bombing them.

No: the CCP was determined to avoid the fate of the USSR,  learnt its lesson from the TS protests,  and "opened up" the economy,  thereby initiating the "Chinese miracle" ie the fastest eradication of poverty in history.

Indeed, TS had the statue of liberty lady holding a welding torch. This led to liberty welding for freedom welders for free welding, the torch of welds and profits of double talk welding.

More non-English non-sense.  An unending circle of un-facts.

Let's take it slowly for you....

"delusional democracy equals freedom ideology...

ie the "freedom" to subsist in socio-economic disadvantage, like the homeless, and like Oz's (involuntary) "Job -Seekers"?

The same job seekers who the "democratic" government says it cannot afford to lift above the poverty-line because it has to 'balance its budget' (which is nonsense, as I have explained many times) while spending $380 billion on subs to protect Oz from the 'China Threat'.

You are displaying how your blind "freedom values" ideology cripples your ability to comprehend plain english.

And you accused me of writing non-English non-sense......oh dear....

Plainly, the CCP changed economic policy as a result of the TS protests, initiating the "Chinese miracle".

Now the Chinese government enjoys the support of the vast majority of  Chinese people, while the democracies are imploding.

You confuse Beijing's 'economic politics' with 'English language'. You also assume people here are fascinated by the reduction in China's poverty as the answer to all comments on China. You have triple errors, in post after boring nonsensical post.

'The S&P 500 also edged nearer to confirmation of a bear market, finishing almost 19% below its record close on February 19.'
$10 trillion bucks on 52 trillion. This is familiar business for Mr T. the rex.

Er...the US Constitution's  assertion of the existance of 'natural, inalienable, self-evident rights' IS an ideology - and it's delusional, as I have shown on other threads on Ozpol.  (In short: 'individual rights' (in the Western tradition)  are merely desires, not some sort of natural law).

Indeed freedom is independent of wealth, who said otherwise?

The problem is freemarket economic theory based on the freedom of self-interested individuals to compete in  "efficient, invisible hand, free markets" without regard to the collective's well-being.

Hence the "right to pursue happiness".... duh - that's what we all desire; and Al Capone  indulged in quite a bit of murder on the way to achieve the wealth he considered was synonymous with his own happiness .

Quote:
You confuse Beijing's 'economic politics' with 'English language'.

No; and the error in your original silly assertion ("not one example of 'ideology' on Ozpol")  again confirms why your ideological blindness renders you incapable of facing reality, eg "rights" are actually codification of desires, not some sort of natural law.

Quote:

More nonsense. Many people are "fascinated" by the 'Chinese miracle', and many 3rd world leaders want to emulate it.

But certainly not encompassing "all comments on China".....hyperbole to be expected from your crippled powers of comprehension.

Created by counter-revolutionaries who wanted to demolish the 'Marxist' revolution initiated by the CCP.  As happens when individual desire is elevated  above the well-being of the collective.

Quote:

Your error: "economic policy" (whether capitalist, free market, Marxist or whatever) is not defined by 'the miracle of welding"; please learn to express your meaning in plain English.

More giberrish; the desire for freedom is real, it's not a "process".
