What is not said is the we previously had two ASW/LRMP squadrons, Nos 10 and 11, but 10 squadron was removed from the role and turned into a SIGINT unit with a very reduced number of aircraft. This re establishment of 12 squadron is only an attempt at restoring the capability to what it used to be.
