I don’t suppose the clapped out tanks are being reconditioned so they can go to the front soon after delivery? Is the side armor being removed like the US does?

It is cheaper to donate the tanks than to decommission them!

Not at all, they can be sold for scrap.

The Abrams are in perfect working order, as far as I am aware.  They already lack the DU armour that the US models sport.  I understand that they were only used by little old soldiers on Sundays to go to service.   Wink

Reliance on US Security Is National Infantilism

The former Head of MI6, Sir Alex Younger, speaks to Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell...

Younger suggests that the West's (over)reliance on the US military has infantilised Europe (and Australia and the Asia-Pacific by implication) and that US withdrawal from providing a security blanket will ultimately be healthier for all those over-relying on it to the degree that they can't even defend themselves.

And it’ll be years before we get the Steam submarines.

Nice the NOK had a chance to express their grief, but at the enquiry itself is not the place. They can add nothing to the proceedings and a victim impact statement after the matter is finished is a better option.

As well as helping out the Canucks it shows the US they are not the only game in town and will bring in a few dollars as well. Win all round.
