No. The other track is not usable especially by heavy vehicles. The fire on the fuel train will (or may) have damaged the concrete. There will be  light or zero traffic until the bridge is fixed.

Each day brings our world closer to nuclear warfare.

This tension can't continue (obviously). Whatever's going to happen will happen suddenly. Putin will eventually crack (and we all know that he's hovering at that point right now).

We are living in very precarious times. Make no mistake ... the global recession is on track to hit every country in a brutal way. Australia is no exception. China is currently suffering and this conflict btwn Russia and Ukraine is affecting fuel prices and supply chain processes. All this is right on the back of global Covid19 devastation.

It's time to plan ahead. Be clever with your money. Stock up supplies and be in a strong position to be self sufficient as much as possible so as to help those vulnerable around you. Think family and neighbours because it's time to start thinking local village.

You can't help anyone if you are not in a strong position yourself. That means taking responsibility for your physical and financial health.

I'm terribly worried.

The spans sit unfastened to the pylons to allow for thermal expansion. The explosion would have damaged the bearers of both road tracks. The fuel fire will have weakened the concrete on the railroad bridge.

This was the opinions of some engineers and ex army sappers on Twitter and that seems right to me.

If one road track is still usable than that is a good thing—will allow russians to evacuate Crimea.

Russia couldn't supply the tank group at Kyiv. Couldn't hold its dug-in positions. Couldn't defend a major naval ship. Can't organise conscription sensibly. Was warned about the obvious target of the Crimea bridge.

'Moscow had claimed the bridge was protected by impenetrable layers of defences, ranging from military dolphins to the latest weapons systems, but had also threatened harsh retaliation if it was targeted.'

Maybe its nukes will work but how incompetent to need nukes against a smaller force like Ukraine. And the generals keep being replaced. Putin's not anti-Russian....
is he?

Military dolphins.
'The Soviet Navy operated a research facility to explore military uses of marine mammals near Sevastopol.

A Soviet military Beluga whale named Tichka twice escaped in 1991 and 1992, crossed the Black Sea and was admired by the residents of the Turkish town Gerze, who called him Aydın. In 2019, a beluga whale was found off the coast of Norway that was believed to have most likely been trained by the Russian Navy. The beluga, called Hvaldimir, was wearing a harness that was labeled "Equipment of St. Petersburg", seemed comfortable around humans, and attempted to pull ropes from the sides of a Norwegian fishing vessel.

The Soviet military dolphin program was passed to the Ukrainian Navy.  In 2012, Ukraine allegedly "resurrected" the military dolphin program. After the 2014 annexation of Crimea, the Ukrainian dolphin program was taken over by Russia. One claim suggests that dolphins died patriotically after going on hunger strikes and resisting their Russian captors'.

Reports of adult beluga say they weigh to 1.5 tons.  A 4 lb. fish can apply 6-8 lbs of force to the line. So a whale can tow 3 tons of explosive in a submerged pontoon, perhaps being trained to follow an underwater drone to the bridge.

Maxar satellite images captured the damage to the Kerch Strait bridge Saturday, shortly after an explosion rocked the only direct road and rail connection between annexed Crimea and mainland Russia.

The blast caused parts of the bridge to collapse, though Russian transportation officials restarted rail service and allowed vehicles to use some undamaged portions of the roadway by Saturday evening.
