Socks will actually ask for her blanket on cold nights. I woke at like 3am to hear a whimper from her: told her to leave her bed, picked up her blanket, told her to go back and put her blanket (liner from a sleeping bag) over her.

Of course, dogs move in their sleep so the blanket was off again when it was time to get up. The dogs in that idiotic photo were posed there. Only a cretin with an IQ of 80 could see anything appealing in that fake photo.

Dogs are great, but THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE. Don’t try to make them people, it won’t work—a dog brain is about the size of a lemon, actually, now that I think about it, that is the size of Booby’s brain too.

Twenty-seven years ago, in the middle of winter, we let the dog inside to thaw off. We had all had our showers and were relaxing in front of the television. The dog was shivering so much, whilst the rest of us were warm in our tracksuits.

It was only a minute or so watching the dog shiver that I covered the dog with a sheet so that the dog could keep warm. The gratitude was so immediate. And that dog stayed there for the next few hours, sleeping, until the parents kicked him back outside for the night. He went downstairs and stayed in my sister's bedroom, anyway.
