The southern republics are Khazakstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Dagestan - all currently under the Russian sphere of influence, but this war is turning them away from Russia.

Navalny is the imprisoned anti-Putin opposition leader who was poisoned while in exile by Putin but survived yet chose to return to Russia - and he's still alive. Putin has no trouble murdering critics, why is Navalny still alive?
