{Sigh} Aussie’s cake would cost over $100 for ingredients.

Making steaks at home and getting take away pizza

OK - I thought so - you always talk about getting bargain prices on eye fillet steak.

Change of plans. Went to a very good local fisho amd got 400grm of sashimi, a roast chook and will get a pizza too

Yum! Have not had sashimi for ages! Not since I moved away from Adelaide and its very good fish shop Sammtas. Used to have it once a week, would try to chose two different fish, kingfish and say salmon and buy some “seaweed” salad to go with it.

After eating a rather big blob of wasabi before I could warn her (I could just about see the steam rising from her mouth, ears, nose etc  Grin ) Mum said “I don’t like that green stuff” but I did!

Here is my pasta, hand rolled and hand cut—easier on my shoulder! Shapes are a bit freeform, oh well—handcut! Artisanal!

Dry a bit, ready to be cooked and smothered in a nice pasta sauce. Tomorrow now, I think.

Still have to laugh when I think back to my first batch of pasta. Must have made a huge batch, had pasta hanging over the backs of chairs, over a hanger on the kitchen door—in the morning Demi had eaten every single bit of pasta hanging over the backs of the kitchen chairs, the clothes hanger on the kitchen door etc  Grin

Riiight, you didn’t know the restaurant, you don’t know what the dishes are.

I think you meant “I always post purloined content.”

No, I ain’t. I DO have a great collection of cookbooks tho.

Try this one:
“Making artisan pasta”

by Aliza Green. For sale on Amazon.

Not just Italian pasta either and a bewildering variety of pastas on offer.

I think the time has come for me to buy a couple attachments to the Kenwood:

A pasta extruder and some dies (including SQUARE spaghetti!)

A roller and cutter for sheet pasta. The tear in the cartilege of my right shoulder seems to have grown a bit!

Let's get a pic of how it turns out when you cook it?

One difficult part is to make a nice sauce for pasta.   Wink

Fry pan, EVOO

Sliced clove or three of garlic into the fry pan.

When it starts to sizzle add 1-2 onions sliced or chopped. Cook 5-10 minutes.

Add can of passata or whole peeled tomatoes (these can be fresh.) Plenty parsley stems chopped fine.

Let cook down, add tom. paste to thicken, bring plenty salted water to the boil, add pasta. Let cook 8-10 minutes (depends on taste and type (thickness) of pasta then transfer with a bit of the water to the sauce, stir in.

Serve covering each portion with chopped parsley leaves and thickly with Italian Parmesan or similar cheese. Eat.

Easy.

Is that a box of cheap GOON wine near the fridge?
Looks empty. Maybe it had bottles of groggy in them?
