OMG yes!
I’m so delighted.
I’ve been put off meat for ages it seems. Since all the revealing back then of grain feedlots and how cows are injected with anti biotics, this that ‘n the other.
I’ve returned to buying meat but from pillar to post, buying meat and it was either tough and grissly or not much flavour as I remember. Even at restaurants I finally gave buying the meat menu a try hoping for some redemption and it was a nightmare! I was so disappointed. I decided to stick to the usual fish meals.
So, after thinking and searching I found an organic butcher in Belgrave, but still that certain meat flavour wasn’t there. Then I realised they never specified grain fed or grass fed. Naturally I’m safely assuming grain fed since it’s disappointing lack of flavour.
I searched the internet to find only 2 butchers that are organic and grass fed.
How excited I was!
This one I went to is in The Basin (at the foothills of the Olinda mountains).
Now it’s not cheap and I’m willing to pay if it’s good.
Last night I couldn’t resist.
I cut a bit off the rump steak and simply fried in a little olive oil. Added some Himalayan salt and pow!
There it was!
That flavour I remembered from long ago!
Oh days of joy!
And…. I also have a fishmonger that sells only Australian fish (yes expensive again) but wow it’s amazing!
How happy am I
