So now we are back to Soros and not
Quote:You speak of Jews as if you know them... Let me tell you, you don't write like you do. They are not of one kind, just as not all Australians are the same; nor are they the same religiously, as neither are Catholics /Protestants /Muslims. Many people with Jewish ancestors identified as Germans/ Europeans, not as Jews, and collaborated with the Nazis.
Lots of people collaborated with the Nazis. Jews, Catholics, Protestants, intellectuals. In fact most people of all persuasions under occupation went along to get along and not to catch the eye of thd Gestapo. Did Soros, as a 14 year old boy? Like almost everyone else, he did whatever he needed to do to avoid identification as a Jew and be deported and murdered. He was no hero, like most people. An opportunist, like most people.
Certainly an opportunist for the rest of his life.
That's right, as likely your Danish relatives of Soros' age were doing after the German invasion of Denmark.
If you've spoken to them, they may have told you that as kids, the risk to themselves and their extended family, if they didn't obey the occupiers' commands, answer questions honestly and report 'bad' people or those who hid 'bad' people to the Gestapo or a military officer.
Now, on the 'Jew' thing... labelling someone as a Jew, even against the individual's identification, is a vestige of European Jew-hate that most Europeans culturally inherit.
The most famous example was Karl Marx, whose father converted himself and his family from Judaism to Lutheranism so he could continue practising law, after Jews were restricted from certain professions in Prussia.
Karl, himself, grew up as a Lutheran, but ultimately rejected all religion and considered himself nothing other than a secular, atheist German. However, he suffered discrimination his whole life, both personal and legal, as a Jewish descendant. The Nazis, of course, never let anyone forget he was a 'Jew'.
