Not at all, dear boy, we love you.

After all, what's not to love? You come to our country, feign superior culture and pretend we're all foreigners. You despise our ways, our values and even our Boongs. You despise us all, and that's okay.

We don't hate you, old boy. We need you. You represent everything that made us cut the apron strings to the old world, join the new and become the open, free and fair country that we are. We're Aussies, we're here, we're us.

And you, dear chap, will always be you.

How does it feel?

And yet The West keeps drawing those vipers to its chest... WTF is wrong with these governments?  They stomp on their own who object, then give a free run at political control to others... madness... pure madness.

https://i.imgflip.com/8s5bl2.jpg

Grappler, a spear-bearing Oogabooga with a bone in his nose could run the place better than you. "The West" has immigration to sustain our population and provide the services we require. Australia has been a nation of immigrants since the late 18th century.

Abandoning the White Australia Policy was inevitable and essential. When South Africa refused to abandon Apartheid in the 1980s, they became a pariah state: economically, politically and socially in decline.

Australia went in the other direction, and thrived: the only state in the world to have maintained consistent, unbroken economic growth since 1993. Like New Zealand and Canada, we're the most successful multicultural nations in the world.

I'd add the UK if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot with Brexit.

economic growth does not equal increasing material living standards

canada has some of the most shocking per capita gdp economic growth around, it's a truly failing economy; australia is following the same trajectory (declining per capita gdp growth, though it's not quite as bad as canada yet)

...

this is mostly due to immigration which is driving population growth in economies that do not scale with additional people beyond a certain point, causing per person economic output levels to simply contract as the total wealth produced per year gets sub-divided by more and more eaters

south africa is now a failing country that cannot operate an electricity network (because there aren't enough high IQ people around in the country relative to its total size to be able to, and retaining a functional power grid is effectively a nationwide IQ test). electricity dependent industries such as manufacturing and bauxite refining are leaving south africa because of the intermittent and inconsistent energy supply. it probably would have been better off than it is now retaining apartheid even with the sanctions, though it wouldn't have been politically viable to do so.

Immigration is their solution to the post-covid blues, you silly old thing. You've shown a comparison with the US, also an immigration nation. Australia is now in competition with both countries for smart immigrants, and therein lies the rub: importing talent adds to economic growth

Just ask the old boy.

You're right. Apartheid was most certainly not politically sustainable. You can't keep 50 million Jigaboos down for long, dear. Not with economic sanctions and no foreign bucks to keep your police force stocked in pith helmets and billy clubs.

Get busy living or get busy dying, JC. You'll need to accept a world with tints eventually. The quicker you get used to that, the better.

Because we took the country from the Boongs. Immigrants aren't stealing a thing.

If they do, we just deport them.

Oh?

So the First Fleet and the following 150 years were not cuddly immigrants, they were the "We, the takers". The cuddly immigrants are counted only from non-Anglo Europe after WWII but especially in the last 40 years from the third world.

What's the différance between w that you can "we" and 'immigrants', wee paki trouser sniffer?

the US is not comparable to anywhere and especially not to canada because 1) it's a military hegemon and has reserve currency status, so it can print enormous stimulus so its gdp is artificially inflated beyond the means other countries are capable via government spending (look at its debt levels) 2) its not a resource based economy anywhere near as much like canada/australia so it can absorb population growth without real gdp per capita being deteriorated 3) its per capita immigration rate is much lower than australia or canada

canada is seeing declining p.c gdp simply because it is adding so many people that the volume of $$$$ its resource sector produces, which doesn't meaningfully increase with more people, gets sub-divided by the extra people you add with immigration. canada has little other meaningful economic activity outside of that (though more than australia), so there is a serious hit to real per person GDP as a result. canada is much larger pop wise than aus so that's why the effects of this are more pronounced here than there, but we are starting to see indications of it as well.

canada and australia are massively expanding their population when they would work much better given their economic structures as smaller states. LVO on macrobusiness writes about this all the time and he's 100% correct. there's no way it's not inevitable here (already happening); adding a bunch of uber eats deliverers, security guards and taxi drivers to economies that are heavily dependent upon a fixed wealth endowment results in the wealth that is disseminated by that endowment via various mechanisms to be spread thinner and thinner over a greater population, with little to no meaningful benefit or productivity increase in return.

we are seeing real world declining living standards and a loss of amenity before our very eyes, and its mostly due to population growth.

if it really is their solution then they're f_cking retarded bc it is failing and the results are right there for you to see. immigration is the source of their post-covid blues, not the answer to them.

and now 50 million jigaboos are doing what 50 million jigaboos do best, returning south africa to an effective state of non-complex pre-industrial civilisation. the intention of apartheid was to prevent that even if it was ultimately long-term futile

You're suggesting that the first fleet didn't take Australia?

Strange. I thought that was Arthur Phillip's point when he stuck the Union Jack in the ground at Farm Cove and gave it to Mother.

You immigrants flew here. We settlers came by boat. That's about the only difference, but do you know?

You're free to join our fine Arstralian culture or moon away, enjoining your Danish and singing from the Lutheran book of hymns. Either/or, no?

We're a jolly bunch. We have backyard barbies, get drunk and stoned, making total fools of ourselves. We look outwards, like exploring, instinctively believe in free movement and trade. We like to learn lots of different things, patching together views from a range of sources. Our philosophy is neither analytical or continental, but something in between. We value liberty and freedom of expression - your DLs can go get fucked. We produce great thinkers, filmmakers, actors and musicians, sports people, you name it. We produce great things too. Our white wine, for example, is distinctively Australian. Our beer's krap.

We tend to forget all this when we're in Australia, but when we leave, we know. We realize what a great country Australia is, how lucky we are.

You're free to join our culture, dear boy. Or not. Either way, you should at least express your gratitude. We're happy to share our culture with you.

You?
