Pericarditis is a potential presentation of COVID-19. COVID-19 can have an atypical presentation with non-respiratory symptoms. Recognition of an atypical symptom of COVID-19 allows for early isolation and limits the spread.

There are very rare cases of pericarditis and myocarditis caused by vaccines. However, Myocarditis and pericarditis occur in the general population from a variety of causes. Not all cases that occur after vaccination are caused by the vaccine. Myocarditis and pericarditis can also be caused by COVID-19.

The vaccine related condition is usually mild, and more often found in younger people (mostly males) under 40.

One of my colleagues who was a super fit athlete at 66 years old, contracted pericarditis after a mild Covid infection (he tested positive for one day only). He had not been vaccinated. He bounced back quickly because of his good general health, but told me he was frustrated at suddenly having to take medications for the first time in his life.

How convenient.

Do you have the figures for those that have not had the vaccine but have one of the above mentioned conditions?
Surely that must rate in the study that drew the conculsion you have come to post above?

You have the links. If you stick to reliable medical sources, you'll find everything you need.

If you follow woo woo sites, you'll find everything you want to feed your conspiracy theory.

What's it to be?

Flat Earth?
Climate Denialism?
Moon Landing Conspiracy theories?
Covid vaccine disinformation?

All of these and more are to be found in your friendly Social Media links.  Easy to digest. No troubling factual information or technical jargon....

You've been caught hook line and sinker.

Quote:

Myocarditis is an inflammatory process of the myocardium. It can present in the acute, subacute, or chronic phase with either focal or diffuse involvement of the myocardium. In the United States and other developed countries, viral infections are most frequently the cause of myocarditis. In developing countries, rheumatic carditis, Chagas disease, and complications related to advanced HIV/AIDS also provide important causes of myocarditis. Myocarditis is diagnosed based on clinical presentation. Diagnosis is classically confirmed by endomyocardial biopsy. This activity reviews the evaluation and management of myocarditis and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in managing patients with this condition.

..........

The incidence of myocarditis is approximately 1.5 million cases worldwide per year. Incidence is usually estimated between 10 to 20 cases per 100,000 persons. The overall incidence is unknown and probably underdiagnosed.  In the United States, the frequency of myocarditis is difficult to ascertain as many cases are subclinical. In community-based populations, the prevalence and outcomes of myocarditis are unknown as epidemiologic studies suggest that the majority of Coxsackie B virus infections, an important cause of myocarditis are subclinical, thus following a benign course.

According to some estimates, 1% to 5% of all patients with acute viral infections may involve the myocardium.

The majority of patients are young and healthy. Individuals who are susceptible include children, pregnant women, and those who are immunocompromised

Too easy...

In short:  Unvaccinated people who develop myocarditis or pericarditis after
contracting the COVID virus are four times more likely to do so than people
who develop either as a suspected causal factor of vaccination.

Risks of myocarditis, pericarditis, and cardiac arrhythmias
associated with COVID-19 vaccination or SARS-CoV-2 infection

Yes.  That had me chuckling too.  A couple of unnamed blokes rabbiting away
on some shonky webinar, with no accreditation or clinical qualifications who
in reality had no idea of what the images showed.

Thank you for bringing a little sanity into this thread John.  And of course, yes, we
should be very wary of any alleged clinical claims in those conspiracy-type videos
the OP has posted.

That there is NO evidence even of what exactly these unnamed conspirators are
talking about, and/or showing makes the entire presentation on Telegram(!) suspect.

Cardiovascular Effects of the BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine in Adolescents

https://www.preprints.org/manuscript/202208.0151/v1

Quote:
This study focuses on cardiovascular effects, particularly myocarditis and pericarditis events, after BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine injection in Thai adolescents. This prospective cohort study enrolled students from two schools aged 13–18 years who received the second dose of the BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Data including demographics, symptoms, vital signs, ECG, echocardiography and cardiac enzymes were collected at baseline, Day 3, Day 7, and Day 14 (optional) using case record forms. We enrolled 314 participants; of these, 13 participants were lost to follow up, leaving 301 participants for analysis. The most common cardiovascular effects were tachycardia (7.64%), shortness of breath (6.64%), palpitation (4.32%), chest pain (4.32%), and hypertension (3.99%). Seven participants (2.33%) exhibited at least one elevated cardiac biomarker or positive lab assessments. Cardiovascular effects were found in 29.24% of patients, ranging from tachycardia, palpitation, and myopericarditis. Myopericarditis was confirmed in one patient after vaccination. Two patients had suspected pericarditis and four patients had suspected subclinical myocarditis. Conclusion: Cardiovascular effects in adolescents after BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccination included tachycardia, palpitation, and myocarditis. The clinical presentation of myopericarditis after vaccination was usually mild, with all cases fully recovering within 14 days. Hence, adolescents receiving mRNA vaccines should be monitored for side effects. Clinical Trial Registration: NCT05288231

Not tachycardia? !

Tachycardia is the medical term for a heart rate over 100 beats a minute.

I get that whenever I see a needle!  The other symptoms you mention are mild. The key here is sub-clinical.

I also get moderate cardiovascular "effects" whenever I get a blood test.  They scare the beejeezus out of me. It stems from a botched malaria test when I was in Africa. At least I don't have to lie down to get a test nowadays.

You know what's wrong with that study? They didn't do a day -3 check. In other words a background reading (as opposed to baseline) for a condition that's common in the population.

Sub-clinical = relating to or denoting a disease which is not severe enough to present definite or readily observable symptoms.

Also Google White Coat syndrome.

Has the Thai government discontinued vaccination of adolescents as a result of that study? Of course not.  The symptoms described are very mild.

I've not had any Covid19 jab and I've never tested positive for Covid19 either. So you're unjabbed and have tested positive for Covid19. Interesting.
