Intervention (alt 0153) = Intervention ™ - just letting yez know how to do that if you want...

You know - Invasion™, Intervention ™, Racism™, Oppression™, Poverty™ and so forth... to signify that these and other things are trademarks of certain ideological movements......

Voice™ .... and the beating goes on and on..... thing on Twitter yestidee, virtually everyone was critical of Labor's handling™ of the sale™ of this issue™ to the public.  Most views were very irate that a government would dare to tell the electorate to vote for something unexplained and undetailed in advance and just trust them to get it right - let alone the way it is worded, being that governments can change it from time to time.

The consensus was definitely NO.... and that's without even looking at the countless reasons to vote NO in a democracy.

Most people, whether indigenous or not, are not aware of their own potential.

Merely an assertion which can't be proved, to support the conservative  'individual responsibility' mantra....

Quote:
Education is hugely important, but it will not do you any good, if you do not have any imagination.

...which you confirm by your own example....
Macroeconomics has a vast influence on people' lives, and requires imagination to engender systems which improve participation for all.

Quote:
Parents and communities must foster imagination and inquisitiveness.

Yeh...like are you inquisitive about how money is created ("the last taboo of central banking": Gareth Hutchens)

Quote:
In pre-industrial times, people were limited to the horizon around their village, but the same is true today, in different ways.

So? Indeed the song-lines, creation myths, and rock art of ancient cultures reveal plenty of imagination.

Quote:
So if a young person is neither inquisitive or imaginative, they will never be more than a drone. And no amount of a voice in parliament will change that.

No comment; I don't wish to discourage any latent "imagination" that may be present in your head.

Who cares about the Stone Age mob living off the taxpayer out in the bush, Albo should have told them there is a 3% unemployment rate and they should get off their backsides and go and get a job while he was up north last week tending a sanitised smoking ceremony, i doubt Jacinta gives a rats either, she is on a good wicket now and can milk it for all its worth.

There would have been a time (a blink of an eye since the passing of  their general acceptance in the timeline of human history) when the likes of absolute monarchy, slavery and restrictive/privileged suffrage were accepted as normative. Now, not so much.

So you now reveal that this is about EXTRA suffrage for Indigenous?  You Know - a privilege not carried by everyone else and thus not a right?  Talk about privileged suffrage... one person - two votes or more.... vote early - vote often.... welcome to the Third World.

Why do they need extra suffrage?

[][img]https://c.tenor.com/gSunEEnWgbgAAAAd/carnival-games-shoot.gif[]

Serious question - are you trying to defend this idea or trying to bring it down?

NZ has successfully maintained indigenous seats since 1868. In this respect Australia is 150 years behind the times due largely to over 170 years of a powerful white-trash element that has corrupted the Australian psyche since 1788.

It's possible that constitutional change is 10 years too early, as currently it will be hindered by the white-trash mindset of the mid-20th century and prior.

Ten years from now that mindset will be eradicated with the passing of the generations that still bear them.

Doesn't tell us why they should be given extra privileged suffrage that nobody else has..... extra access that nobody else has .... the Constitution Which Will Remain Untouched does not mention colour or creed..... citizens.... love it or leave it.....

Still stuck on your outdated ideas on social groups defined by age - stupid really - can't expect any more from people educated these days.... all Jews are the same.. all footballers are the same .... all Mussos are the same ....all Abos are the same..... all Boomers are the same......

You get where I'm going yet?   Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

Yes, you said that in 1967, no? Love it or leave it, you said. Vote no. Boongs, you said, keep out. No. Oh, no. How very dare you. Tsk tsk tsk.

No Blacks, no dogs, no hommers.

We showed you, no?

Spanking ceremony. The Boongs showed Albo. They put him over their knee and gave him a jolly good rogering.

Next comes the referendum, where you'll get a jolly good rogering too. The Aussies will give the Boongs a go, and you'll complain, oh, so unfair.

We'll be there for you, Matty, no worries. We'll hear you. Oh, I know, we'll say, you're in so much pain. Where does it hurt? The anus?

You poor thing. Which hole would you like us to use next?

Establishing a Voice to Parliament could be an opportunity for Indigenous Nation Building. Here's what that means

https://theconversation.com/amp/establishing-a-voice-to-parliament-could-be-an-o...

When Aboriginese jump on the bandwagon of 'nation building's you know they are onto a crap old idea.
You cant do 'nation building' where there are only fractious tribes and clans - Afghanistan, Iraq, Aboriginal Australia...

Now now, Matty, if you take that attitude, you'll be well and truly fucked. I'll be going slops myself, right after the Boongs take your worthless virginity.

And believe me, it'll be a landslide. If I was you, I'd be getting my bottom ready. Just be sure to purse your lips when it's my turn, dear. I love it when you look all dazed and stupid.

Macroeconomics has pharkall to do with living in a remote area where there are no jobs, unless you are somehow suggesting that the pie should be sliced so that everyone is paid a living wage without working.  All that will generate is a lot of people living la dolce vita without working... the moment you say that every remotee will be paid a wage for being a remotee, you will create a tsunami of remotees...

I was wondering just last night why it is that supporters of this 'voice' are so afraid to actually address the real issues and to treat Aborigines equally...... what is it they are so afraid of?

I mean - it has no chance of passing.... so what's next?  Any Labor government that imposes it from above will lose the next election and hand to the current Opposition a golden chance to destroy them for ages... they got away with it forcing women into the lovely spots and now governments and businesses are so afraid of the press they can't refuse to comply ... even the party that claims to operate from grassroots finds itself unable to comply with the wishes of their own constituents, but feels the need to impose women candidates as if by some right .... now they think they can just con the people into changing the constitution to favour a small minority.

Well - it won't pass.... Ne Passerons!
