NOW - about that proposed voice again...... you are beginning to sound like a cracked record, divide, and you will never listen or answer questions put to you.

I'm convinced you don't read my replies, no i don't support the voice.

Well - that IS the subject matter - not your endless pushing of a dead program from over twenty years ago that shows no fruit today, so was ineffective.

But guess WHY the proposal for a voice is currently being considered.......

Of course a program can't "show fruit today" (according to your definition), if it was cancelled 2 decades ago.

In the case of our Aborigines - they are CHOOSING, in the sense of their own personal sovereignty - to live the way they do.  The alternatives are there.... they CHOOSE not to take them because they PREFER their own way.

I have to disagree with this.  Our aboriginals are effectively denied the
opportunity to choose their current or future lifestyle by a white society's
oppressive governmental directives
—which are all too often misguided
or ill-advised.

A classic example of this discord is of course time.  For 60,000 years the
aboriginals had no concept of time per se.  Which is why it's often
hard for them to adhere to the white man's rigid compliance with time;
as per a 9 to 5 job for example.  Aborigines have always lived by the sun;
up at daybreak and sleeping after sunset—probably one of the best current
examples of a natural, human circadian cycle.  (And just look at the upset
cause currently by the white man's daylight saving issue.)

Sir Grappler Truth Teller OAM wrote on Oct 13th, 2022 at 11:35pm:
So - again - there is NO solution until they themselves come to the party...

Quote:
Not so.  Yours is the classic example of "oh, it's up to the aborigines to
comply with our social standards, morals and ethics.  So it's their fault
they're stuck in the dark ages".

All good in theory, Geoff - but the old days are gone... so you too are OK with killers, bashers, thieves and so forth roaming free because their rhythms of life are different?

No, of course not, and I never even implied that.  You're putting words
in my mouth.

Sir Grappler Truth Teller OAM wrote on Oct 14th, 2022 at 12:15pm:
Does Stan Grant have trouble keeping the hours of his job?  Do those people working in government departments have trouble with the hours of work? Do those at unis have trouble attending the lectures on time?

These are simply cherry-picked examples, and in no way represent the
values of the vast majority of other Aboriginals.  According to Creative Spirits,
only 1.6% of Australian university students are indigenous, for example.

Sir Grappler Truth Teller OAM wrote on Oct 14th, 2022 at 12:15pm:
So - over to you - how do YOU propose to fix all their problems and the problems they foist on others?

Quote:
I don't have any particular knowledge or expertise in Aboriginal affairs,
so I'm not qualified in developing a solution.  In fact I have no idea as to
how it can be done, but done it needs to be—by those suitably qualified.

And who are they?  I have no idea of that either.

What a load of rot.

You're right on one thing ...... you have no idea.

So we are again left with the idea that because their life rhythms etc are somehow different, they must be accorded special treatment?  Genuine Apartheid?  Only if they are separated from everyone else for the safety and security of the majority.

Divide's ideas lead inevitably to that... government must impose, according to him, which means forcing them to do right etc... but he does not say how.... so I can only imagine his final solution is the gulag.  Might as well make a dollar out of it by making it into a live zoo....

It is 2022 - not 1787 .... and their 'special ways' are far too destructive to continue as they are, and NOBODY is responsible for those ways but the individual.

What percentage of all other groups are there in university education?  How do you want to split them up?

Alleged Bloody Originals get special scholarships and fees paid and separate cash from the mainstream and even fares etc paid to get there for residentials etc.  Told yez about me gf who was doing nursing - paid her own fares every week to get to uni, own accommodation, fees - had a friend doing the same at Sydney U (no less) who was flown down free every week, had all accommodation and fees paid etc.... and had a part-time Land Cruiser job to go check that no 'sacred sites' would be impacted by a proposed power line.

Guess which was Indigenous?

Sorry - excuses are like arseholes... everybody's got one.

No, but we must deal with the confusion being spread over "land rights", "culture" and "the black way of life".

Dysfunction and chronic unemployment must be addressed, rather than the diversions outlined above.

I've never mentioned Apartheid.

No it doesn't; it's the government's job to eradicate social dysfunction and chronic disadvantage wherever it occurs, not only in black communities.

The CDEP was welcomed in the communities which participated in the scheme.

but he does not say how....

Block-head - deaf, blind and dumb...the CDEP succeeded in reducing dysfunction and disadvantage, you still haven't acknowledged it.

Correct

Irrelevant twaddle.

Yes I already pointed to the confusion over "culture", a diversion which needs to be confronted.

Difficult, apparently even Ray Martin is claiming 'aboriginality'...

It's your lack of capacity for rational analysis which is far more damaging.

Now, now - you're getting snarky.. it won't help you futile case of ranting about CDEP over and over... it's long dead and buried and I have no obligation to say anything about it.

Like everyone else - you do not possess the right to make the rules for discussion with me.... I alone will determine what parameters I will permit in discussion of issues relevant to my own country.

You do have an obligation to admit its success in reducing crime and alcoholism in communities that participated in the scheme.

But apart from that: this is the reason for your uselessness when it comes to closing the gap:

"and NOBODY is responsible for those ways but the individual".

Sheer ideological ignorance of the human condition; we are all products of our environment.

And Oz black dysfunction, a disgrace in the eyes of the world and a torment at home, MUST be solved.

Failure in not an option.

[interestingly, you can see high-paid Ley's worthless greed,  demanding tax cuts for herself while letting the "leaners" rot in poverty, but you can't see your own "freedom" ideology blinding you to the causes of black disadvantage].

The program is dead and buried.  The concern is here and now and what can be done - considering that all has been tried to no avail.

It is not  'my'  'uselessness when it comes to closing the gaps' - I have no say in the matter, and there are countless bodies actually doing that which are having as little success as I am.

Either the Blacks are children and must be controlled in everything, or they are sovereign individuals who have the right to make their own decisions.  Which way do you want it?

As before - I come from a background perhaps in many ways worse than many of your sainted Blacks - I made my own choices and decisions and NONE of those led to gaps that are not equally endured by many others.

If their dysfunction must be solved - what are your SOLID solutions that the countless bodies working on their behalf cannot find?  Give Us Your Plan!

The causes of Black disadvantage are far more complex than what you say - and most of it is in their court.

Oh, FFS!!!

Raised Warragamba Dam wall risks ‘irreversible harm’ to Aboriginal cultural heritage, NSW report says

The project, it found, would have a “deleterious effect” on cultural heritage values and cause “additional injury to the wounds of previous dispossession and loss”.

NSW government document changed to make impacts of raising Warragamba Dam wall ‘less definite’
“The project will result in cumulative harm to the intangible values of the cultural landscape through extension of previously unmitigated impact on cultural values from the construction of the Warragamba dam and flooding of the Burragorang valley and its tributary valleys,” the report stated.

Landscape - Abo heritage.
Intangible- whatever, innit.

So flooding a bit more will make a huge difference?  What genuine sacred sites are going under?

Do they WANT to live in Sydney basin and have water and sewerage or would they prefer to be turned loose into the endless landscape?

This is past ridiculous.

P.S.  You mean the NSW Government PAID some jurkey to write this sh1t and formalise it as a report?  You could have gotten that opinion over a beer at the pub .... from a raving drunk... or from a crazy house inmate...

The program is dead and buried.

Correct, but it needs to be reinstated imo; btw you don't have to support the CDEP (indeed CIS market ideologues destroyed it...they obviously didn't support it), you only need to acknowledge it reduced crime and alcoholism in the communities which participated in it (which is fact, not opinion).

Quote:
The concern is here and now and what can be done - considering that all has been tried to no avail.

Correct - except for your blind, ignorant (I assume not deliberately lying) statement that "all has been tried to no avail".

Some success WAS achieved (eg with the CDEP) before the Reagan/Thatcher neoliberal "small government" ideology began ravaging the disadvantaged who were previously cared for by Keynesian 'welfare' state' policies (1946 - 1980s).

Quote:
It is not  'my'  'uselessness when it comes to closing the gaps' - I have no say in the matter, and there are countless bodies actually doing that which are having as little success as I am.

Yes, those "countless bodies" are working within the current entrenched neoliberal orthodoxy, which demands individuals compete in the private market....or forced to rely on poverty level 'welfare' (the dole), a social and individual disaster.

Quote:
Either the Blacks are children and must be controlled in everything, or they are sovereign individuals who have the right to make their own decisions.  Which way do you want it?

Individual sovereignty is an evil myth, we must all submit to rule of law,  to avoid anarchy.
But indeed many blacks are like children who need support and direction, to become responsible  functioning adults.

Quote:
As before - I come from a background perhaps in many ways worse than many of your sainted Blacks - I made my own choices and decisions and NONE of those led to gaps that are not equally endured by many others.

They are not "sainted": I despise the filth and the stench and abuse toward the public on buses and public places in central and northern Oz.

And the sickening spectacle of chronic mind- and body-destroying alcoholism in public parks, which the community tolerates because it thinks it cannot "afford" to dry these people out and engage them in useful employment.

Quote:
If their dysfunction must be solved - what are your SOLID solutions that the countless bodies working on their behalf cannot find?  Give Us Your Plan!

I just did, above...again (I will avoid wasting my time abusing you, you are too far gone in your ideological "freedom" blindness).

Quote:
The causes of Black disadvantage are far more complex than what you say -

What I say? I have already outlined some of it:

1. An ancient defunct culture trying/having to catch up with the modern world, since the hunter-gatherer economy is dead;

2. 'culture warriors' trying to make aspects of the  defunct culture practicable in the modern world,

3. vicious orthodox economists demanding work programs lead to employment in the dog eat dog competitive neoliberal job market

4.  preference of government to set up "safety nets" to sweep the problem under the carpet, in the mistaken  belief they are saving money.

So the torment continues for the dysfunctional blacks themselves, and for the commumities and the nation which must bear witness to the ongoing nightmare.

Quote:
and most of it is in their court.

Care to identify which is and which is not "in their court"? i

Round and round...

There is a difference between being subjugated under someone's rules of law and exercising your personal sovereignty in abiding by a set of reasonable standards.

History is full of examples where laws were unjust, and even murderous...

You mean, subject to rule of law; and "exercising personal sovereignty" is dependent on the environment in which one is raised.

And we are still living in a slaughterhouse, owing to rejection of rule of law on behalf of the collective wellbeing.

Tell it to the European Jews....

Yes - and imposing an unjust set of laws by force will lead to insurrection.
