All released balloons, including those falsely marketed as “biodegradable latex,” return
to Earth as ugly litter. They kill countless animals and cause dangerous power outages.
Balloons are also a waste of Helium, a finite resource. Balloons can travel thousands of
kilometres and pollute the most remote and pristine places.  Balloons are also a waste

Many animals mistake burst so-called “biodegradable” latex balloons as food, causing
intestinal blockage and death. The ribbons or strings that are sometimes tied to balloons,
whether it is “biodegradable” or not, will last years and can also entangle any animal
that comes in contact with it.

So... having said all that, what do I see in my morning paper today?




And who totally ignored the simple fact that these balloons can kill native fauna, both on the
land and in the ocean and rivers, and take decades to biodegrade?     Why, the long-term
traditional custodians of the land, that's who.



Surprised anyone?  Yes, those sensitive peoples who've purportedly looked after
the environment and ecology of the continent for thousands of years;  the people
who consistently badmouth  whiteys for polluting and destroying that very same
ecology.

Hypocrisy 101 anyone?
