Excess mortality is the key. So far it's insignificant in Australia. A little higher in the UK, but the cardiovascular effects of long Covid are probably yet to kick in. Have you tried getting a car serviced recently? So many people are absent from the workforce due to long Covid. I know of two people at least who ended up with heart murmurs as a result of Covid infection and were fighting fit beforehand. One of them had never been vaccinated. Most people would know of other cases.
https://ourworldindata.org/excess-mortality-covid yes.
long covid is going to be a massive problem.
most of it will be imaginary.
when 1/2 the population are chronically tired and unmotivated AND you tell them you can now stay in your pyjamas and play the victim of this devastating illness

, you are going to get massive numbers signing up for that.
add in that the fear mongering has made the population into quivering hypochondriacs addicted to safetyism and every headache, every feeling of lethary or shortness of breath will be put down to this illness in a wave of mass formation pyshcosis.
every person on the dole being asked to do work for the dole, every disgruntled teacher, cop, nurse, call centre worker, ditch digger, check out chick can just put their hand up, retire to the couch and watch netflix and declare they identify as a victim of a disease which has no markers and requires everyone to take their word for it.
what a catastrophe
