Supreme Court Strikes Down New York Concealed-Gun Law
In Sweeping Decision

Decision goes beyond rules for concealed-weapons permits, rejecting legal method overwhelmingly used by lower courts
to evaluate gun restrictions

New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen

The 6-3 decision, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen, marks the widest expansion of gun rights since 2010, when the court applied nationwide a 2008 ruling establishing an individual right of armed self-defense within the home. It puts in question similar laws in at least eight other states and the District of Columbia, where authorities hold substantial discretion over issuing concealed-weapons permits.

While Republican-leaning states have been loosening gun regulations over the past decade, California, Hawaii and more urban states in the Northeast have maintained their traditional limits on concealed weapons.

In brief, it strikes down the long standing requirements that force American Citizens in New York, & other States & localities, to show acceptable 'needs' to the licensing agencies in order to secure a State concealed Carry Permit.

New York State & New York City will no longer have discretion over a Citizens Right to Carry a firearm on their persons, & as long as these Citizens have clean Criminal & Mental Health Records they must be issued a Concealed Carry Permit if the Citizen requests.

This is a MAJOR Victory for Gun-Rights Advocates all across America!

A mass shooting in Harlem killed a college basketball star and injured eight people early Monday, leaving a total of at least 20 victims shot citywide in fewer than 6 hours — and signaling an ominous start to summer.

At least 13 people were also shot citywide Friday through Sunday, authorities said.

“It’s only going to get worse,” a veteran NYPD detective in Manhattan told The Post of the bloodshed. “Unless the [Manhattan] DA starts enforcing these gun laws, this violence will continue, and it’s going to be total anarchy in the summer.”
