Pale Blue Dot
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

Sadly, the 'Western' (currently ruled by a Media induced North Blue Democrat and South Confederate binary) way is to flee the 'dying world', as they did from Europe to Namerica.
So to does NASA reflect their 'the world is stuffed, we gotta find new worlds' excuse to exist. Mining Companies are interested in that. Use up the resources here, say our planet is dying and push the 'colonisation' of other worlds agenda.
Going by what is discovered so far, colonisation of other worlds is a very 'far fetched' wank that the world really needs to focus on 'discovering 'life' (not destruction) here first.
But we know Politics, Military and Religion - even the Media, doesn't want to look into the 'abyss' of how our world is currently, because they know the abyss will look back into them. The world is compromised to allow empowerment to Wars, big Corps and Pollutions for short term gain.
Just like the 'lab' excuse for Covid - it guarrantees no environmental backlash about 'pollution' and unhealthy societies being to blame which would cause major changes to be made to countries like China and USA.
This world does not 'deserve' to discover life, let alone intelligent 'cultured' life on other planets. It is not responsible enough to guarrantee the safety of these worlds - because our Species can't even guarrantee the safety of life on this planet.
A good first step would be the 'Green' Militaries of the world protecting what's left of the animal world, rather than protecting Politics and Religion. The Militaries should be the ultimate 'Conservationists' for protecting animals.
If I came from another world and saw this one. I too would stay hidden from awareness from the 'parasitic' infestation of Sapiens on this planet. We are in essence - still 'primitive' for its the 'Monkeys' who still rule the planet with their monkey 'followers' in tow allowing them to rule.
