I don't need no stinkin' cologne!

I shower every couple of weeks
whether I need to or not.

I have that Nivea Men post shave balm sitting in my mirror cabinet. I bought the bottle last year (around this time of year) to use for the upcoming winter months. But, I started growing a beard for the winter months and stopped using the aftershave, until August when I restarted my shaving. Otherwise, the weather is too hot to use aftershave. As I have been trying to use up the aftershave before winter hits, I tend to overuse the lotion. So, I have to wipe off the rest of my lotion onto my arms and then wash my hands afterwards. This seems to be having an effect on my female co-workers who seem to like the way I smell.

I notice a tradition of me buying Imperial Leather soaps. I use those during the winter months because they keep me warm after getting out of the shower -- as if I have some kind of barrier to ward off the cold. But, like the aftershave, I only use that soap during the winter months. I still have about 4 bottles of body wash that I bought last year to use up. And I also use those during the winter months.

With my April haircut being done, I won't be getting another haircut until August. And by then, I will probably look like the Unabomber.

Woolworths were doing a special on body washes, today. $4.50 for those shower gels. I also picked up a $3 bottle of anti-dandruff shampoo. I mean, that is 2.5 litres worth of body wash that should last me the rest of the year.

My uncle spotted my bathroom shower gels on his last visit to town. He told me that when he was young, all he had in his shower was a bar of soap. But I have bars of soap for different occasions. Lemongrass soap to ward off the mosquitos. Coconut soap to soften my facial hair. Imperial leather soap to keep me warm for the cold winter weather. And then there is the handwash. Meanwhile, I have 3 full bars of coconut soap still waiting to be unwrapped. The Imperial Leather soap is still 4 bars worth. And my shower gel is about 8 bottles. Not forgetting my shaving needs, including aftershave balm, and I have 6 David Beckham deodorants on hand.

I have two Airwick dispensers -- one in the toilet room, the other in my old bedroom. Glen20 for the toilet. One canister for the car. And tomorrow night, I light up my first set of citronella candles to ward off whatever mosquitos are still hanging around.

Men who wear cologne? You could smell me a mile away.

David Beckham deodorant is good.

I think Sydney Shang-Hai and Melbourne-Mogadishu need to be sprayed and cologned often for environmental reasons.

While up in the Himalayas. Met one of those dreadlocked wild Tibetan guys in yak fur. Big tall fella. The stench of the guy (probably hasn't washed in years) matched his looks. It was so overpowering, I found it hard to get a clear breath standing near him. Yaks themselves smelled better. Made me wonder what the women were like? Shocked

Wear Cologne

Was never into it but at one time I had about 4 varieties that I would use when I went out with the girl who gave it to me. Thought it may improve the odds and think it likely did a bit.

I currently use radox body wash - either extreme (mens) or coconut, some of the girls on the train say it is nice. One young girl (much too young for me) told me that she regularly sat next to me because I smell nice.

I switched from using David Beckham deodorant to Rexona 72 hr antiperspirant, for work. My female co-workers seem more receptive of me now.

Actually my hubby often buys Rexona. As long as he doesn’t put too much on ... I’m ok with it.

Edit : Otherwise it brings on an asthma attack 😩🥺😔

Have you ever known of people that do not shower more than once every other day? I have. Even I went 2 days without showering, one time. I smelt really sour until I had a good 10-minute shower. The stink I raised from my 4km walk last night was bad enough. But, when you have a hot shower to let the muscles relax, it is worthwhile to know what kind of soap you are going to use to wash your body.

If you have a shave, make sure you give your body and face a good scrub over. Apply the aftershave balm when you are dry. Going out in public, you have to at least be presentable for the sake of other people.

My father only made an effort to be clean before he got into bed, or if he was going to a function. Otherwise, he stunk like an old fart (literally and figuratively) with his ageing body smells that only his pet dogs found sexy. It is pretty difficult to form a relationship when your girlfriend thinks your dad smells too much like mouldy cheese. That is probably the motivation behind me writing a response to this topic.

One of my former female housemates told me that I waste too much deodorant. She told me that it was a matter of a quick spray under each armpit. Meanwhile, I am here spraying each armpit for a second. Then 2 seconds spray over my chest.

The Rexona antiperspirant is pretty effective. I only use half as much. But, the smell is quite powerful.
