Have been pondering hybrid vehicles, came up with this explanation for them.

A hybrid recycles the energy that is normally 100% lost during braking and reuses it when the engine most benefits from it.

I am warming up to a hybrid quite a lot.

The entire Hybrid concept from the beginning has been based on the Rebreather compared to the normal Scuba system of breathing. It's still got a long way to go before it performs like a Rebreather with all the advantages over the normal Open-Circuit Scuba system.
...but it is well known that the more 'complex' Rebreather Closed-Circuit system is far more dangerous. In the Diving world the saying "Rebreathers: They want to kill you" was very much the truth for a very long time.

If you drop a beefy fart in a hybrid car, does it get directed to the engine?

No. It dissipates via the Scrubber.

I suspect a survey of hybrid users would reveal the majority were vegetarian. Should we be investigating the calorific value of such emissions ?

Spent two days driving a friend's new Volvo up in the mountains and on road. Not since the my original Morris Mini Cooper have I fallen instantly in love with a car. Put the deposit on one yesterday but the waiting list means I won't have mine for up to six months. Hope by the time it arrives spare parts aren't as hard to get hold of. Now's the time to install more solar panels on my property.
