Usyk beats Fury again 116-112 by all three judges.

Wasn't a very dramatic fight. Just a lot of point scoring punches by both, with Usyk scoring more.
Fury isn't trained well. He constantly moved around to Usyks left which benefits the southpaw. No wonder he was out scored. If he does that against hard hitting Zhile Zhang of China, he will be KO'd.

Is boxing a stupid sport?

Irish boxer John Cooney dies aged 28 after sustaining brain injury in title fight

...
Cooney has died at the age of 28, days after taking part in a title fight.

Cooney was defending his Celtic super-featherweight title against Welshman Nathan Howells at the Ulster Hall in Belfast on February 1 when the bout was stopped in the ninth round.

He was taken to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment and subsequently underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain from an intracranial haemorrhage, Dunlop said earlier this week.

Irish boxer John Cooney has died at the age of 28 from brain injuries sustained in a fight, his promoter announced on Saturday.

“It is with complete devastation that we have to announce that after a week of battling for his life John Cooney has sadly passed away,” promoter Mark Dunlop said in a post on Instagram.

“Mr. and Mrs. Cooney and his fiancee Emmaleen would like to thank the staff at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital who have worked tirelessly to save John’s life and for everyone who has sent messages of support and prayers,” Dunlop added in Saturday’s statement.

The end of the actual fight:

Should boxing be banned?

The human brain cannot withstand those constant blows to the head.

Most boxers end up punch drunk - if not dead from brain injuries.

Just shows how great Boxers are.
Should we ban Cricket because a batsman got hit by a fast ball on the temple?
Or other athletes that have pushed themselves beyond their limits to win and have died?
Like motor sports and marathons.

Sport has death, just like every other profession.
Musicians die too.

But no other sport deliberately tries to knock someone out
by hitting them in the head.

I watched a late night Australian boxing program many years ago, live. I think it was a Fenech promo series.
Anyway, some Aussie boxer was fighting a Russian.
I think come the start of the 9th round. The Aussie boxer got up off his stool and fell forward... dying instantly from a brain clot. This was live.
Pretty amazing stuff. The Russian quit boxing after that. Freaked him out that he had killed a man without firing a shot.

Fact is, that Boxing has saved many lives and given people a hope to earn a living when there is none. It's not perfect, but if just 1% die in the ring. Then that in itself is a win.
There are far more dangerous professions out there compared to boxing.
When is some spectator in a cricket crowd going to die from a hard cricket ball they didn't see coming?
Ban Cricket?

But isn't it sad that for some people there is nothing better
they can do in their life but use their head as a punching bag for someone else?

It's just as sad as a female prostitute -
the only job that girl can get is selling her slot to strangers.

Is that all they were born for?
What does it say about our society?

Tim Tszuyu gets a TKO win easy against a nobody (Spencer) who didn't put up a fight and was towelled out.
What got me is Tszuyu walked in with that tired old yobbo Down Under song that feels like it's 50 years old.  Roll Eyes

Kostya's boys had great boxing form by the time they were around 7. They would come into work with their dad on Saturdays occasionally.

Yes. I believe that. Shame Kostya left them all for Russia where he got another nice young concubine and new life. Nikita, the Mother's son seems more mentally stronger than Tim.
