human flourishing has returned.

49 deaths in one day.

They are dropping like flies.

nah.

we were originally told 1 % fatality rate which equals 260,000.

instead we have less then 10,000.

250,000 less deaths thanks to the omnicold.

we should be so so so so grateful

Our normal Australian death rate is 169,000 per annum
https://www.aihw.gov.au/reports/life-expectancy-death/deaths-in-australia/conten...

which is 463 people per day.

49 people would represent 10.5 % of our normal deaths.
How many would have died anyway?

1 in 10.

but bobby, the UK currently estimate 1 in 12 people are infected.

so a lot of those are dying with, not from the omnicold.

Having finished RockyNats02 last weekend, Rockhampton is looking to surge in its covid cases. We have ANZAC Day coming up on Monday. Those people that came in from outside of Rockhampton with the virus will have spread the virus during the car show. Last year, I went to the dawn service. Even though covid cases were still single figure digits for our town, I recall how we were bunched together watching the ceremony. I can only imagine that the march will have people bunching together to watch among other people to those that were at the dawn service. We might see an upswing of elderly getting covid and dying in the next month.

The Covid disaster train rolls on.

And, I saw a tweet today where someone had a couple of questions for all those who believe Covid is no worse than the flu.

1. When was the last time an Australian flu season started in November and was still going in the third week of April?

2. When was the last time a flu season killed over 5,000 people in 5 months?

I don't believe he received any answers (or is likely to get any).

And... I cannot believe Queensland Health keep posting distractions like this:

https://twitter.com/YouAreLobbyLud/status/1517599603767791616

Looks like Queensland Health have deleted it... just as well David kept a screenshot.

It's a bio weapon - of course it was going to be bad.

I think health authorities are playing off influenza cases as covid so that they can get more funding.

Straight forward proper hygiene measures like hand washing and sanitiser usage have cut down on the amount of spreading of all kinds of diseases. Staying home when you come down sick is also a major factor in preventing the spread of disease.

Here's aqua with the road toll comparison again.

OK, I'll play.

The annual road toll for Australia is about 1,000 deaths a year.

In the first 4 months of this year we've already had more than four times that because of Covid.

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2022/apr/20/australias-covid-death-to...

Federal health data shows 4,547 people have died of Covid-19 this year to date, compared with 2,239 over 2020 and 2021

Quote:
The number of deaths from Covid-19 in Australia this year to date has reached more than double the deaths from 2020 and 2021 combined.

According to federal health department data as of 18 April, 6,786 people have died of Covid-19 in Australia since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these deaths, 4,547 occurred in 2022 – more than double the 2,239 deaths recorded over the first two years of the pandemic.

Oh, another 5 deaths have been added to the total since my last post.

https://covidlive.com.au/

49
Covid deaths in one day is shocking.

yes, it is bad news.
However we look at it.
Pandemics are a bad thing

I'm sure the families of the
33 dead
already reported today just from NSW and Victoria wouldn't be falling to their knees and feeling grateful.

https://covidlive.com.au/

Wonder how high the death toll needs to be before people start waking up to the fact that Covid hasn't "gone away" despite what the politicians, big business and right wing media want us to believe?

No one with any credibility is claiming covid has "gone away".
