Since 407 (I've also seen 412 and 413) Covid deaths in one week still isn't enough to get a response or even condolences from the Prime Minister, State Premiers or the media I like the idea someone on Twitter has had to get a group together Australia wide and print out hundreds or thousands of weekly death reports like the ones from Covid Live and put them up all over the major cities where as many people as possible can see them.

And, Victoria has now finally joined the rest of Australia in stopping daily reporting of Covid numbers.

https://twitter.com/VicGovDH/status/1614053424521412609

Quote:
The coronavirus website will continue to provide data on the COVID situation in Victoria, which will now be updated on a weekly basis. The move to weekly reporting will help to reduce fluctuations in data.

Bullcrap!! How are people supposed to use "personal responsibility" to deal with Covid when almost no information is being provided anymore about daily cases,"hotspots", etc.?

Hopefully we will also move to Friday morning 7 day weather forecasts, do we really need a daily weather figure? Just go outside and see if it’s hot or cold, take personal responsibility!

Bullseye!!

408 (or 412 or 413) Covid deaths reported for last week in Australia.

Not a word about it in our daily newspaper on Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

And not a word from any of the pollies, of course.

The only mention of Covid I've seen was in yesterday's The West Australian where they had a small article on page 31 about the 60,000 Covid deaths so far in China.

If someone with underlying medical conditions dies in a car accident, did they die directly FROM the car accident, or did they die WITH the car accident?

But, we do have another mention of "post-COVID" in the business pages of today's The West Australian in an almost full page article about employees' wellbeing and mental health.

A cropped part of the article is attached.

Perhaps Caitlin meant to type "post-COVID infection"?

hi carl,

i had a kelpie once that had this bone that was really old but he just kept gnawing on it.
just didnt want to give it up.
he was convinced he could get a little bit more out of it.
gnawing away , getting more and more frustrated , day after day

i thought he was a bit of a nutter.
at some stage you just have to admit the juice isnt worth the squeeze and move on

That might happen when I (and many others) see a weekly Australia wide Covid report like this:

Cases..................0
Hospitalisations...0
ICU.....................0

And, most importantly:

Deaths..................0

COVID-19 Mortality in Australia: Deaths registered until 30 September 2022

Quote:
12,545 deaths where people died with or from COVID-19 that occurred by 30 September 2022 have been registered and received by the ABS. The ABS expects to receive further registrations for this period from the jurisdictional Registries of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

The underlying cause of death for 10,279 (81.9%) of these people was COVID-19.

There were a further 2,266 people who died of other causes (e.g. cancer) but COVID-19 contributed to their death.
Chronic cardiac conditions were the most common pre-existing chronic condition for those who had COVID-19 certified as the underlying cause of death.

Welcome back everyone.

Here's our weekly Covid report:

Cases and hospitalisations down (cases down only because hardly anyone is getting tested, of course).

380
deaths this week.

https://covidlive.com.au/

And still silence from the Prime Minister and State Premiers.

yes - far too many deaths but there is nothing we can do about it.
The vaccines have not been effective enough.

How many have died or been seriously injured from the vaccines?
No reports on that.   Undecided
