I'll just leave this here.

285
Covid deaths reported for Australia this week.

https://covidlive.com.au/

WA's deaths haven't been added to Covid Live as of the time of this post but we've had 29.

https://twitter.com/MarkMcGowanMP/status/1611224444114178048

Wow.

Meanwhile, the BS in the media continues. This was in today's The West Australian.

"Infectious diseases expert Professor Robert Booy said existing vaccination levels and natural immunity meant the subvariant would not be a major risk to the community."

Really, no more of a risk than the variants that are currently killing 200+ Australians every week? That's a relief.  Roll Eyes

By the way... I've read that a lot of people (including some medical professionals) believe Professor Robert Booy has about as much credibility as Dr. Nick "Welcome to 2022, the year the pandemic ends" Coatsworth.

how many of them actually had covid in the lungs.
probably none

omicron produces tiredness, temps, a sore throat, irritable cough and runny nose.

this classifies it as a "mild respiratory virus"

if you are already at deaths door, it might tip you over.

but if you are a 30 yo car with bad brakes, a blown out clutch, a smoking engine that overheats and you wont start one morning, we arent surprised.

so why the surprise that 200 people are dying with covid.

we literally have millions of people with burnt out kidneys, a bad heart, terrible lungs, shocking blood vessels, leg ulcers and a liver that doesnt work.

if they fail , its hardly surprising

if you had a bunch of teenagers dying or if you had a bunch of new BMWS all blowing up after doing 1000 kms , you'd be very keen to investigate

when its people on their last legs, thats just what is expected to happen.

our chief health officers arent surprised and they are top scientists.

believe the science carl

Here's a bit more science for you to believe.

Australia has the highest Covid deaths per million people in the world at the moment.

What a disastrous 'achievement'.

And still silence from the Prime Minister and the rest of the pollies.

Someone has even given Mark McGowan a suggestion about how to do it:

https://twitter.com/TokenAtheist1/status/1611241469175803906

Quote:
Here’s how it’s done Mark:
“We offer our condolences to those who have lost a loved one and we strongly encourage you to follow the example set by Labour politicians and public figures who adhere to WA Health guidelines by wearing a mask in crowded indoor settings.”

Of course pigs will fly before that happens.

Oopsies... what happened to that "short, sharp wave" that was supposed to be over before or by Christmas?  Roll Eyes

Victoria is the only State still giving daily numbers and here's the (reported) cases since the New Year (the real numbers would be way, way higher of course due to lack of testing and reporting of positive RAT's).

9/1      9:28 AM      3,373 new cases in VIC
6/1      9:16 AM      1,650 new cases in VIC
5/1      9:16 AM      1,629 new cases in VIC
4/1      11:36 AM      2,172 new cases in VIC
2/1      8:12 AM      1,226 new cases in VIC
1/1      8:56 AM      1,424 new cases in VIC

https://covidlive.com.au/last-updated

Another 16 deaths reported today for Victoria as well.

https://covidlive.com.au/

The only 'good' news is that hospitalisation and ICU numbers are down (for Victoria) at the moment.

Sadly, yesterday's "good news" from Victoria didn't last.

https://covidlive.com.au/

Another
29
deaths with hospitalisation and ICU numbers up. The cases are down again because yesterday's report probably had 2 or 3 days worth of (reported) cases.

But that's normal for a "mild respiratory virus" that our governments now want to treat just like "any other respiratory condition", isn't it?

Especially in the middle of summer.

Edit: screenshot added because Covid Live usually 'reset' the numbers before the end of the day.

Another
31
grieving families in Victoria today.

https://covidlive.com.au/

That's 76 deaths just for Victoria in the last 3 days.

And we're all supposed to believe this is "normal", are we?

When Victoria (the only State still providing daily Covid numbers) has reported
135
deaths in the past 7 days you just know tomorrow's weekly report for the rest of the States isn't going to be good.

I’ve put a cross through the top 3 stats because it seems obvious people aren’t reporting or RAT testing as much.
Focus on the bottom line which are actual hard stats.

Yes - that is correct.

Terrible news - they are dropping like flies.

The vaccines have lousy efficacy - no wonder hardly anyone is getting a 4th jab.
Is it only 10% of people have had a 4th jab?

bobby, i hate to say it but it could be that governments (state and federal) have looked at the rapidly growing number of elderly people with multiple medical issues who are costing them a fortune and who they cannot find hospital and nursing home beds for and they are not displeased that large numbers of these people are being taken out of play.

you are a fool to rely on government to look after something as basic as health

they cant get the trains to run on time , much less look after the health of each and every individual

That's a bit rough - there's nothing the Govt. can do now.
We have no vaccine for the XBB 1.5 variant and it looks like a new wave is hitting us.

For once I agree with you.

Especially after this was revealed today.

Breaking: NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet had dropped a bombshell saying he wore a Nazi uniform to his 21st birthday party. He says this “grave & terrible mistake” was raised by a colleague 2days ago. The premier is 40 yrs old.

Seeing as this is the man who 'spearheaded' Australia's open up and let it rip approach to Covid (including scrapping isolation completely for positive cases) it all makes sense now.

Hope he loses the NSW State election in March by more than the WA Liberals lost the WA State election 2 years ago.

Probably won't change anything regarding Covid but I'm sure it will give many Australians incredible satisfaction to see him and his government gone.

Dominic Perrottet apologises for wearing Nazi uniform to his 21st birthday

Quote:
Earlier today, Mr Perrottet said he was "deeply ashamed" for wearing the uniform to a fancy dress party, saying it had caused him "much anxiety" through the course of his life.

He told a press conference in Sydney that he decided to come forward after receiving a phone call from a cabinet colleague two days ago.

"When I was 21, at my 21st fancy dress party, I wore a Nazi uniform," he said.

"I'm deeply ashamed of what I did. And I'm truly sorry for the hurt and the pain that it will cause people right across our state.

"Particularly members of the Jewish community, Holocaust survivors, veterans and their families. I'm truly sorry for that terrible mistake."

Mr Perrottet said he was "not aware" of any photo depicting him in the uniform, denying the announcement was made to pre-empt any political attacks ahead of the March election.

They're always "sorry" after they've been 'caught out', aren't they?

Time for you to resign, you worthless POS.
