From what I've been seeing and hearing since "National Cabinet" decided to remove our last Covid protections on Friday it looks like the ALP (and the unions who are supposed to be providing safe workplaces for their members) will be having a BIG membership drive shortly because of all the resignations that are now happening.

A few people are even thinking about joining the ALP and then immediately resigning just to make their anger known. I'm even thinking of doing that myself.

Apparently quite a few MP's around Australia received a lot of phone calls and emails from many very angry people on Friday - rumour is that some of these MP's eventually took their phones off the hook but I strongly suspect they were just being overwhelmed with the volume of calls.

After Friday I (and many others) do not want to hear another word from whingeing coffee shop owners when their former customers bring their own coffees to work or any more whingeing business CEO's when their staff (and customers) are constantly off sick.

As for Anthony Albanese - enjoy your one term Prime Ministership (and government).

Albo's acceptance speech: "No one left behind because we should always look after the disadvantaged and the vulnerable. But also no one held back, because we should always support aspiration and opportunity. That is what my government will do."

Unless you're vulnerable to COVID, of course.

sleep well and dont stress about covid which is everywhere anyway

you'll be fine

probably just a sniffle and it will build your immunity

Since the pollies from the Prime Minister down are telling us the pandemic is over then they shouldn't have a problem with someone who is infected (whether they're aware of it or not) walking into their offices and sitting down for a meeting.

king charles mixed with literally thousands of people who were shaking his hand and embracing him at a recent event

if a 70 king is happy to do that, our pollies should do that.

certainly the super fit tony abbott would be fine.

COVID variants are evolving ways around vaccines and treatments, fueling deadly conditions for a winter surge

This will be a summer surge here, of course.

Yet these nascent variants that are rapidly spreading abroad have an evil twist that omicron lacked: an ability to evade the drugs that humans have developed to fight the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The two subvariants of particular concern are known as BQ.1 and BQ.1.1, both off-shoots of the omicron variant BA.5 (but with several key changes.) This could make the new vaccines relatively useless (but still better than nothing.) Talk about sleepwalking into a disaster which is what Australia is doing right now. I'll be sitting back (in my KN95 mask, of course) waiting for the inevitable "no-one could have forseen this" comments - which will probably be heard by Christmas.

I wonder what damage Covid and the vaccines have done to our community?
Covid-19 attacks every organ in the body -
heart, liver, kidneys, brain etc

Anyone who has had Covid could have permanent damage
and that means half of all people.
Then - how much damage have the vaccines caused?
It's been a catastrophe and it was all caused by mad scientists
using gain of function to make a virus much worse than nature would have made it.
