Yep, can't argue with this.

I have always believed that a big part of the motivation for "let it rip" was to protect businesses from being sued, by making covid so prevalent, removing contact tracing and genomics, so no-one could prove where they caught it.

I have believed that for some time now.

Seems a few people have been trying to bring this to the attention of the NSW Premier today.

"'Rules For Thee, But Not For Me" comes to mind.

You could make a stronger case for banning tobacco. After all, lung cancer alone killed about four times as many people as covid did even in the worst month this year. Purely on health grounds, there would be no argument- but when you take into account individual freedoms then it becomes a problem.

It's a question of what people will accept as reasonable. At this stage, the number of deaths due to Covid19 continues to decrease. It's at about the same magnitude as influenza. The appropriate risk control is similar to that  of influenza. It's horses for courses. With minimal controls in place, the reproduction rate is below 1.

Can't remember the last time influenza killed about 12,000 Australians in just 9 months?

Another 246 deaths in the past week.

https://covidlive.com.au/

Victoria's death numbers have "disappeared" from Covid Live again (they were there a few hours ago) but they reported 59 deaths this past week.

https://twitter.com/VicGovDH/status/1575621491542179846

We've also hit the grim milestone of 15,000 Australian deaths since the start of the pandemic with this week's death totals added.

And, as predicted, the farce known as National Cabinet has today agreed (or were dictated to by Dom and Dan) to drop all Covid isolation from the middle of October.

Still waiting to see the "medical advice" this decision is based on... and it will be a very long wait, I'm sure.

Since politicians and big business now dictate public health policy for Australia maybe it's time to get rid of the various Federal and State Health departments and save the long suffering taxpayer some money?

Now Covid Live shows 92 deaths for Victoria for the week?

https://covidlive.com.au/

282
deaths for all of Australia for the last week.

Great time for National Cabinet to "agree" to remove Covid isolation completely from the middle of October.

I think I heard something about "National Consistency" to explain why all of the States are doing it... yep, they're consistently stupid.

And, as I said - maybe it's time to get rid of Health Departments and Chief Health Officers, etc. Australia wide since pollies and big business CEO's now dictate public health (which is now "Personal Responsibility" and "You Do You").

282 poor souls and not a mention in the news.
Why is our news so corrupted? -
it seems as though it's pure Govt. propaganda.

The death rate is continuing to fall with no significant controls in place.  The brown line shows 7 day average death rates. That's totally different from 2020-21 when we had a lot of controls in place.

Will there be another peak? Maybe, and when we see evidence of that, we could be back to compulsory masks.

Bobby, obviously if you are old and decrepit,  you need to take precautions.

It's an awful disease.
It's not like the cold or the flu - which attacks the nose and lungs -
Covid can attack every organ in your body -
even your liver and kidneys and brain.
It must be a bio weapon.

Influenza and pneumonia killed 4,269 people in Australia in 2017. I said "of the same magnitude". You wouldn't use different risk control measures for 12,000 deaths as opposed to 4000 deaths.

Hey, Bobby.

Many people are astonished that this was on Sunrise today.

Professor Brendan Crabb of the Burnet Institute.

https://twitter.com/BurnetInstitute/status/1576047059223707648

Quote:
It's too soon to scrap mandatory COVID isolation @CrabbBrendan
tells @sunriseon7
in a wide-ranging interview that addresses failures of process, problems with messaging and serious consequences for the Australian community including long COVID.

Finally - some truths about Covid being told.

Meanwhile, Victoria (the only State still reporting daily Covid numbers) has recorded another 1,426 new cases and 14 deaths today.
