Ironic that a German chancellor became a Chamberlain to Putin's Hitler.

History will keep repeating itself, so long as war is legal,  given that national self-interest will always find a reason to go to war, as Bush did in Iraq, and the US is doing in proxy wars in Syria and Yemen.

And it will again (like Ukraine) if the CCP tries to take Taiwan from the Taiwanese.

Putin did not focus his invasion in the east. He opened fronts in the north and northeast in an attempt to decapitate the Ukrainian government and install a puppet regime loyal to Russia expecting no resistance and possibly an uprising in Russia's favour.

That's right Putin wants a buffer between Russia and what he sees  as NATO backed by US triumphalism.

Quote:
  He was wrong;

Well he has certainly failed to suppress Ukraine, because he under-estimated the power of  US weaponry (as the Soviets did in Afghanistan in the 80's), which Biden has supplied to Ukraine, rendering Russian tanks useless, and airspace over Ukraine dangerous for Russian aircraft.

Quote:
as the CCP will realise if it imagines the Taiwanese will be more welcoming than the Ukrainians were to Russians.

The CCP already knew this, before Ukraine; that's why the CCP accepted the status quo in Taiwan, so long as the One China principle is observed by all.

If China can tell the Pentagon where to go, in a decade or so, the dynamics will change....Taiwan will be reunited with the mainland without firing a shot.

Quote:
Yet Singapore has a similar linguistic character to those Chinese subjugated by the CCP.

Singapore is not part of One China.

Quote:
Austrians speak German. Should Germany invade Austria?

The Austrians welcomed Hitler.

Quote:
Brazilians speak Portuguese. Should Portugal invade Brazil?
Should Spain invade South American Spanish-speaking countries?

Portugal and Spain and Britain in India did just that, until the invaded colonies gained independence.

Taiwanese-Chinese  have yet to gain independence.

Quote:
Should Mongolia invade inner Mongolia to prevent the suppression of the Mongolian language in Inner Mongolia?

The autonomous regions of China maintain freedom of language.

Quote:
Uighurs speak the language of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Should they invade Xinjiang?

Uyghurs have freedom of religion and language, in autonomous Xinjiang.

Quote:
So you agree the CCP is suppressing Mongolian and Tibetan languages in Inner Mongolia and Tibet respectively.

No, as refuted above.

Quote:
The Taiwanese are a separate people

Tell that to the UN...

Quote:
who have not had to suffer the oppression and catastrophic 'mistakes' of the CCP.

True  - up to 1990, when the CCP started to govern successfully. so successfully that China will be able to tell the Pentagon where to go within a decade...game over.

Quote:
It is not surprising that they intend to defend their island against it

Defending a delusional "freedom" ideology ( "freedom" which doesn't exist in the absence of prosperity and security, because economic injustice will always breed social instability)  will be seen as a fools errand when the PLA can tell the Pentagon where to go.

Nice to have friends. Something the CCP wouldn't know about.

And this 'friendship' with Russia will be a laugh to watch.

It's one thing for two dictators to hold hands; it's another for the people to approve.

Russians have a very low opinion of the Chinese.

Putin may find his approval rating falling soon, the CCP only has to keep lifting living standards, to maintain the peoples' support.

Locking them up, in the murderously quixotic belief China can become virus-free, is fomenting resentment among the people; let alone separating children from their families and mass guaranteeing them in conditions that are way below third-world hygiene standards.

Anyone who's travelled through China reports the poor standards of living and lack of hygiene in most of the country. The whole country is one giant virusarium.

The world doesn't fear the PLA - an untried and corrupt institution that will prove to be as ridiculously unprepared to defend a chook farm let alone invade an island.

The Chinese system of government has not changed in hundreds of years, replete with its imperial dictator and his court.

No they aren't, they are (Han) Chinese (as Athos has said) who happen to subscribe to the evil, delusional "freedom" ideology which will destroy the world if left unchecked.

And is destroying Ukraine at present since you insist on the 'right' of nations to make war, while bleating about "war crimes".

News flash: war is murder, whether it is considered (insanely)  to be "legal" or not.
So stop bleating about "war crimes", you are delusional; ALL war is a crime, and your ideology is the foundation of that crime

Friends like the US, who love to supply arms (like the most evil of drug pushers)  to give the Ukrainians a "fighting chance", in a murderous, destructive insane conflict which has already caused $trillions in property damage, and a huge death toll.

Some friend, there, who  insists on the right to make war, or to be complicit in prosecuting the war , which is just as bad (by refusing to institute international law which would outlaw war.

Hello...change of topic from making war, to fighting a pandemic.

Smart move, you will only confirm the criminal nature of your delusional "freedom" ideology if you keep insisting on the right to prosecute "legal" war and then insanely accuse the instigator of "war crimes".

Still on China's economic development.....

Admittedly that is unproven one way or the other. Lets have another look in a decade. My bet is on the Pentagon deciding not to intervene in Taiwan.

???

In the last 3 decades, the CCP has lifted more people out of poverty at a faster rate than any nation in history.

Athos-is-a-bot-that=is-managed-by-an-administrator.-

The CCP enables Chinese gangs to export dangerous drugs like fentanyl around the world.

The CCP claims the right to take Taiwan by force - i.e. make war on the Taiwanese.

The CCP uses its armed services to needle all its neighbours by harassment.

Being Han Chinese does not mean they should be oppressed by the CCP which is just a continuation of the old imperial system of China; murderous and corrupt to the core.

The CCP offers nothing but a massive drop in living standards that the Taiwanese have already exceeded by their own merits. They are not going to want to see their island turned into the cesspit of disease and degradation that has happened to China.

Meanwhile the mainland is increasing living standards of more people at a faster rate than any nation in history.

I've seen the videos of what China is really like. Outside the tourist showcase areas, China is a dump.

You'd be familiar with Serpentza and Laowhy86. All wumao and little pinks are, as is the CCP.

'Lifting standards' such that the Chinese don't have to eat each other's children to survive is, let's say, a low bar.

As is the video of rural Chinese children catching rats to eat.
