So - after all that - you can argue that in the Western Australian forum here - let's get back to the meat here - Ukraine, Russia, Putin ........... b3fore you go there - HERE!!

WTF has Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine got to do with alleged discrimination against Aborigines in Western Australia?

You need to understand the timeline of history:

The aboriginal question in (all of) Oz  relates to the displacement of a native culture by force of superior arms...in an age before any understanding of 'international law' existed in anyone's imagination.

Whereas Putin's "illegal" invasion of Ukraine is happening AFTER notions of international law were created and recognized by the UN...after a certain  mushroom cloud over Hiroshima alerted everyone to the fact that there is no longer any usable superior force which might be used  to prosecute self-interested desires (like the British proclamation of sovereignty over Oz in 1788).

Except there is still no workable  international law either, due to the persistence of self-interested desire which is still beyond the reach of international law.

Now do you understand?

Funny thing - human nature rejects being pushed around.... I refer you to the hallmark book, 'Intervention and Revolution' which gives reason why people will revolt.

That right, and that's why

1. Putin doesn't like being threatened by NATO
2. Ukraine doesn't like being threatened by Putin

all because people have their own self-interests upper- most in their heads; but in the age of MAD, we have a problem.....

My latest thought on the war:

It's time the Ukrainians cut off all: fuel, food and ammo to the Russians -
then surround them and either kill them or take them as prisoners -
then use them as slave labor to help rebuild Ukraine.
Don't let them go back to Russia to have another go later.

I like the slave labor idea even it it’s totally impractical but how are the Ukranians going to "cut off all: fuel, food and ammo to the Russians " when the flow isn’t in that direction ?

The Russians drive all the :fuel, food and ammo in
trucks that cross the borders of Ukraine from Russia.
They then drive down the road to the outskirts of Kiev.
They are being targeted as we speak.
Hopefully that strategy will work.

This will be a terrible loss for Russia as well as Ukraine.
Russia is looking at a humiliating defeat.
The Russians could easily lose 100,000 soldiers before long.

And your delusional 'sovereign individual rights' ideology is the barrier to a timely mastery of those tasks; the CCP is not the problem, as you are claiming... because you are delusional...

Ouch.

Hint: can you respond to questions re eradication of poverty and war, without reference to the CCP?

China says ‘everyone knows’ who is most to blame for Ukraine war

The Chinese Ministry of Defense has called the US “a liar and troublemaker” and said that “everyone knows” which country was “the biggest initiator” of the Ukraine crisis.

Ministry spokesperson Wu Qian on Thursday commented on accusations from unnamed US officials that Beijing knew in advance about Russia’s attack on Ukraine and that China had even asked Moscow to delay it until after the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Wu condemned the claims, along with reports about China allegedly offering military assistance to Russia, saying there was “absolute disinformation” which only serves the purposes of “shifting blame to and slinging mud at China.”

The accusations show “the true face of the US as a liar and trouble maker,” he said, adding that his country firmly opposes attempts by the US to spread “false and malicious information targeting China on the Ukraine issue.”

The ministry spokesperson stressed that the Ukraine war had resulted from various reasons and within a “complex historical context,” but added that “we all understand which big power bears the biggest responsibility for today’s crisis,” in an apparent jibe at Washington.

What, the Ukraine's right to exist?

No,  the fact that multinational solidarity is worthless if the lead nation is decaying within itself, owing to its fake FIRE economy.

(You are being misled by Meister; you need to reply to me, not him, if you want to debate me).

Of course the Ukraine has a right to exist, as per the UN Charter.

Every member here supports China's "sovereign rights".

China has no more "sovereign rights" in international affairs - and international law - than any other nation.

Before I read your posts, I had some sympathy for China's right to Taiwan too.

Taiwan is a special - disputed - case; and hypocrite Biden supports "One China" while arming Taiwan to the teeth.

Not anymore. If this is how you view the world, I'm out. You've lost us.

I view the world through the lens of international law,  which everyone pays lip service to, but which still doesn't exist.

I hope your views are a minority in China.

In China, >90% of the population support the CCP, who support multi-lateralism in international affairs.

My views are an extension of those accepted norms in China.

Quote:
I'm not sure who's worse - mindless bots like Athos, or those who feign moral superiority like yourself.

I'm flattered by the designation "moral superiority" (in its positive sense)  ...but  I  have to admit it belongs to 'Doc' Evatt ( a former High Court judge, no less).

Quote:
Your views have woken plenty of people here up. Now, at least, we know.

I'm not convinced yet; you still pay lip service to "international law"  without allowing its implementation...

Quote:
We won't have to have this debate when it's crunch time.

And when is "crunch time"?  In the last fortnight alone, it's come and gone for many in Ukraine; and meanwhile Putin is reminding everyone of his nuclear arsenal.

How does it all end?

That's easy! Take a look at some of the recipes cooked up by a familiar lady called Modern History.

1. Take a little bit of conventional weaponry
2. Mix that with chemical and nuclear weaponry
3. Sprinkle a bit of Covid19 to enhance the result.

Results?

1. Holocaust ( merely collateral damage so meh  )
2. Restructuring of global multi national corporations ( so as to reconfigure the current power status on the globe )
3. ---> Global oligarch individual reshuffle means less people in that "cabinet" who get a larger slice of the same sized pie
4. Key advances in Technology (chemical and nuclear testing on plants, animals and people has provided science with an opportunity to research the effects on the living)

FMD! A good description of the expected course of current international affairs.

Your remedy for positive change?

Oh dear, are you so literal?

Someone  mentioned "the right to rule"; I replied  saying "your"  - postulated - 'right to rule' is an irrelevance, a diversion, meaning the concept of ""the right to rule" is an irrelevance, because it's outcomes re poverty, war and sustainable development which are important for the entire world now,  not any particular model of governance.

Try again.

Quote:
The emperors used to claim the mandate of heaven.

Correct, that was one model of governance, so what?

And you have done well, no mention of the CCP....

Quote:
The CCP uses the barrel of a gun or, if you're old and/or a woman, a punch in the face.

Oh dear...spoke to soon, I should have known you wouldn't be able to discuss the urgent tasks facing humanity without blaming the  CCP for the world's ills.
