The 'Neoclassical chickens' coming home to roost in ALL Europe...

(Tagesschau; translated from the German):

Rioters loot shops in Frankfurt

Riots after peaceful protests.

The daytime protests were about better education or compulsory military service, and tens of thousands demonstrated peacefully. In the evening, rioters and extremists took over in some cities. Some of them had apparently deliberately mingled with the demos.

After a peaceful protest by tens of thousands of young people, violent scenes and riots broke out in some cities in the evening and at night - especially in Frankfurt am Main. The hessenschau reports that several shops were looted in downtown Frankfurt. Rioters, some of whom were masked, smashed and kicked shop windows, demolished them with signs or other objects. Sneakers and other things had been stolen. An arms store was also attacked.Zeil shopping street cordoned offAccording to a police spokesman, there were "numerous arrests" in Frankfurt during the day and evening, but he could not yet give exact figures.Several people were also arrested after the attack on the arms store. Officers were quickly on the scene and, according to police, seized two weapons. These were from the store, said the spokesman. It was not initially known what kind of weapons were involved. The police cordoned off the Zeil, the central shopping street in downtown Frankfurt.

ARD reporter: Probably no demonstration participants.
It is obvious that the riots in the evening were unrelated to the goals of the protests of the afternoon, which included demonstrations for better education, a fairer distribution of the burden and against military service.ARD reporter Jakob Schaumann said in the night in the tagesschau that the attacks in Frankfurt city center had come "from a group of perpetrators, where one is not yet quite sure who it actually was." It was probably not participants from the demonstration marches. The attacks were carried out by many small groups. It was therefore difficult for the police to get the situation under control.

"Shocked by the excesses of violence"Hesse's Prime Minister Boris Rhein said he was "shocked by the excesses of violence in Frankfurt, which will not be without consequences". Anyone who behaves like the attackers "places himself outside our society," said the CDU politician. His Interior Minister and party colleague Roman Poseck announced a tough crackdown on the rioters.Attacks on police officers with stones and bottlesAccording to the police, there had already been clashes between police officers and participants in demonstration marches in Frankfurt. Police officers said they were pelted with firecrackers, stones and bottles. Several officers suffered injuries according to initial findings of the Ministry of the Interior. There was no information about possible injuries among the demonstrators in the evening.

"I have repeatedly pointed out that we must expect that left-wing extremist potential for violence will mix with this demonstration, and that's what happened," Interior Minister Poseck had said in the evening. "We assume that there are about 100 violent offenders motivated by left-wing extremism. They attacked the police massively with bottle throwing, with stones and with pyrotechnics." Who later took part in the riots in the city center is the subject of the investigation. The organizers of "Gen Z rules" had explicitly called for a protest without any violence. However, reporters from several cities reported that extremists and rioters had deliberately mingled with the peaceful demonstrators.

"Nothing but violence in mind": In Cologne, there were riots around the cathedral and the main train station in the evening. According to reports by WDR, other groups outside the "Gen Z" demonstrators also moved to the Südstadt after the official end of the demo to riot there.Cologne police chief Johannes Hermanns said it was "sad and affects me very much that young people who wanted to demonstrate peacefully for their future were infiltrated today by extremists who had nothing more than violence in mind."In other cities - such as Hamburg - there were also riots following the peaceful rallies.

Demonstration at the Brandenburg Gate "almost trouble-free"In Berlin, 27 officers were slightly injured in riots after the youth protests, according to police. A police spokesman said late in the evening that at a gathering with up to 3,500 participants, which had started at Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin-Mitte, there had been "numerous crimes". These include property damage, bodily injury and violations of the Weapons and Explosives Act. The actual assembly as part of "Gen Z regulates" at the Brandenburg Gate with up to 5,000 participants, on the other hand, was "almost trouble-free".Jörn Iffländer, a spokesman for the Berlin police, said in the evening in the tagesthemen that there had been disturbances, but "the pictures that were drawn beforehand, of looting or massive riots, we don't have them here in this city."

......

See what happens when even the police are deluded by mainstream 'austerity' economics.

So the demos in Berlin were more peaceful; understanding why would be useful.

Labor have recognized the generational inequity caused by post 70s Neoclassical 'austerity' economics which is behind the mass demos and riots in Europe; but Labor's fiddling around with NG and CGT discount won't fix GenZ's  housing woes in Oz fast enough to save them.
