In all my years, i have never heard a truly intelligent person refer to themselves a "mentally superior". And i know people who awe me with their intelligence.

I've found, without exception, the more intelligent, the more humble. And there are two very good reasons for this; firstly and obviously, the more you know, the more you realise how much you don't know ... and the second is simple understanding of the human condition and the many forms of intelligence.

Only fools claim intellectual superiority.

My daughter, like her father and mother, upsets people when they deserve it - but does not do so as a general rule. It's just common courtesy, something a former employer said I had in droves..... just me.... I yam what I yam.
