All quiet on the front at the moment - won't be long before a good stoush starts up again and you can throw your hat in the ring. Go for The Regiment and you might get a stint with the Brits... or you could flit over and try out direct... can you run the Brecons in Winter? None of this shorts and T and sandshoes... too cold and carrying the pack will keep you warm as you run up hill and down dale over rocks... take some of those little sachets of miso soup - with hot water they are great in many ways.

Sidebar:- SAS 2 SQN was apparently disbanded in secret in December, despite assurances that 'due process' would occur before any such drastic action. Haven't heard any more about senior staff and their involvement or collusion. Troopers are leaving.... many experienced etc...

Considering a new book - 'Tablelands' - once you get to the top, son, all there is, is flat country all around...

A soldier must put out of his mind any thought of the identity of the person in his sights.... it matters not if the guy is on the verge of finding a cure for cancer... just a figure on a landscape... drive on...

I'm certain Brian would have done his job in such a situation - and like him - I never judge anyone's service or story - everyone sees things differently. Look at the Roberts-Smith saga unfolding.... different interpretations of the same events....

I was of the understanding that Dusty Miller did not actually see the incidents... just before and shot(s), and I was not aware another Trooper had been with the shooter at the time.
