That must be why China bans imports. It is not that they get their tits in a bow. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Dummy lee:

The US and China both "ban" (some) imports eg the US bans Chinese EVs - the best value EVs in the world; and China bans imports from unfriendly nations eg, Oz under Morrison...those import bans have since been lifted.

And China has banned Australia's products since then. Like trying to screw down the price of iron ore. Australia isn't an unfriendly nation, we have an FTA.

That you continually try to put that only on Morrison is telling, however. Cool

And that also doesn't make it illegal. Roll Eyes

See lee supporting Conservative fake finance (and the "legal" derivatives casino), rather than just distribution of goods and services; meanwhile the question of who has the privilege to create money, and the consequences of that privilege, is causing incresing chaos around the world.

Deplorable.

Dummy lee: trying to reduce a price isn't banning imports; raising prohibitive tariffs (Trump's trick) is.

Then why is BHP effectively banned, not by the users but by the Government? Roll Eyesthegreatdivide wrote on Oct 19th, 2026 at 1:42pm:

China is heavily dependent on exploiting USA as in the past.

Indeed - except the US, after China's ascension to the WTO in 2000, willingly let itself be 'raped' in the name of free trade.

Just as had occurred 2 decades earlier, in the "free-trade" in cars between Tokyo and Detroit...

Quote:
Trump has pulled the rug out from under China 🇨🇳  with his tit for tat tariffs.

Well... Trump has certainly prevented US competition with better value Chinese EVs....

Quote:
As such, China cannot compete on such a level playing field now.

Level playing field?

State-sponsored development in China has proved unbeatable under WTO rules - now the US can't compete.

Meanwhile China's trade surplus with the rest of the world keeps increasing...

(googe AI)

China's trade surplus reached $938.11 billion in the first nine months of 2026, driven by a record monthly surplus of $133.53 billion in September.

Key Data & Drivers

• First Nine Months: The cumulative surplus of $938.11 billion puts China on track to exceed last year's record $1.2 trillion annual total

...But I agree, "freetrade", that bastard concept of  Neoclassical  economics, has shown itself to be unsustainable, with democracies  everywhere now failing to deliver for their citizens...

So it is only "democracies" failing and you don't get that it is the non-democracies that cause it, by gaming the rules. Grin Grin Grin Grin

Fraudulent lee as always, twisting and turning, and replying to selective quotes.

Lee: "And China has banned Australia's products since then."

Name those products.

(Using  fraudulent lee's  'debating' techniques...)

So you agree democracies like France Spain Italy et al (and hang on to your hats in the upcoming  US midterms...) are failing - which you blame on China; yet the WTO never banned China for 'breaking the rules' after 2000.

Fact is China's one-party meritocracy is more efficient than the adversarial-party rabbles in the democracies.

Suck it up.

Lee: "And China has banned Australia's products since then."

Name those products.

From AI: As of October 2026, none of the major Australian product categories targeted by China’s trade restrictions remain banned. The restrictions were progressively lifted from 2023 to 2024; the last major barrier, on live lobsters, was removed in December 2024.
Wikipedia
1

The previously targeted products included barley, wine, beef, coal, timber, cotton and lobsters. These were trade restrictions—not a general ban on all Australian goods—and some measures applied to particular exporters or shipments rather than every product in a category.

Strange that targeted products that were banned were trade restrictions and not
"all Australian Goods".

So  question to AI: What is the difference between trade restrictions" and a ban on "all australian goods"? Trade restrictions are bans.

Answer: You’re right: a trade restriction can be a ban. I meant that China’s measures targeted particular Australian products or exporters, rather than prohibiting all Australian goods. Calling them “trade restrictions” didn’t make them any less of a ban on the affected products. My wording blurred that distinction—sorry.

But you do like to blur distinctions. Wink
