TGD,
[quote]It is still not fair.
Indeed, mainstream economics is aka 'the dismal science'; it certainly ain't "fair"...
Quote:It's not the old age pensioner's fault that the house and land went up so much -
it's funny money ideas like you have that caused excessive money printing and high inflation.
Your error: I want
managed markets, as opposed to the free market which has resulted in the overpriced housing you are complaining about.
Quote:What is a c-i- Govt ?
Google doesn't know - stop using silly acronyms.
Interesting - I can only conclude you don't read my posts:
A c-i govt. is a legal
currency-issuing government; most national governments are such.
Quote:Govt's are issuing Govt bonds and the Reserve Bank is printing money to pay for them.
You don't read my posts , I already quoted AI showing
most money is created in private banks in normal times; and if (in an emergency) govts buy back the bonds they issued, they're not creating new money, they are...
(google AI)
repurchasing existing debt securities from investors and financial institutions before their official maturity date.Ie, existing debt securities sold to the private sector which carries interest (on the bonds the private sector invested in).
C-i governments which COULD be authoirized to create public money, without taxing or borrowing from the private sector, should NOT sell bonds at all.
Quote:Inflation is caused by the Reserve bank -
they should say NO - we're not buying your Govt. Bonds - go to hell.
There is some concern reserve banks actually increase inflation when they lift interest rates, which causes rents to increase as landlords pass on the expense of higher mortgage rates.
But in general, inflation is caused by demand out-stripping the economy's capacity to supply goods and services.
Quote:You think you've got all the answers.
I've certainly got an alternative to the current dysfunctional public austerity/private wealth monstrosity.
Quote:Your only answer is why Zimbabwe ended up in chaos - where you needed a wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread.
...proving you are incapable of learning: hyper-inflation in Zimbabwe, Weimar Republic, Venezuela etc are all examples of suddenly curtailed supply (whether food, factories, or loss of oil income, wrecking those states' finances, respectively).
As we have discussed many times.
More important is soaring US debt (and eg, the UK and France) which - while not causing inflation - will result in crippling interest payments on the debt which will eventually swamp government spending.
All because of the ancient system forcing govts to borrow money from usurious private sector money lenders:
(googe AI)
During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, governments (monarchs and empires) did not have modern tax collection systems or public central banks. When they needed to fund wars or royal lifestyles, they were forced to turn to wealthy private financiers, merchant-bankers, and syndicates. And indeed "public central banks" are still banned from creating debt free public money.....
Hence the necessity for a new solution, an alternative to the current increasingly dysfunctional economic nightmare:
