Here in Perth a shark attack death (which is also tragic, of course) always makes front page news in our West Australian.

And, as I've said before - imagine the horror and outrage if an airliner with 200-300 people on board crashed every week in Australia with everyone on board killed.

New South Wales - 10,698 new cases and 31 deaths

Victoria - 11,240 new cases and 36 deaths

Still waiting for these daily deaths to make front page headlines in newspapers all around Australia. I won't be holding my breath.

For example - yesterday's West Australian had two front pages (which they do a lot these days). The first one was a 'wraparound' which was actually a 4 page Harvey Norman ad with the headline about Covid in WA schools.

Then we got to the 'main' front page with the headline again being about Covid in schools and a 'small' yellow Clive Palmer 'banner' ad at the bottom.

Pages 2 and 3 were full page yellow Clive Palmer ads which have featured in The West quite a lot lately (The West may not like him same as most of WA but they will happily take his money of course).

Then we had several pages of other "news" about Covid in schools again, complaints about the new ServiceWA app etc. and an almost full page story on page 6 about Mark McGowan allegedly taking remarks by Scott Morrison "out of context" to support his hard border stance.

After finally arriving at page 9 I found this at the bottom right hand corner of the page under the almost full page story about the tennis "star" in quarantine at the Pan Pacific hotel here in Perth and his pregnant wife waving up at him from Langley Park (which was used by The West to have another go at Mark McGowan's border stance and quarantine rules).

Disrespectful and disgraceful is probably the politest way to describe it. And, I'm sure its the same in every major newspaper around Australia.
