How did WA under covid zero Hon McGowan BA go today Carl?

Going quite well, so far.

You can read all about it here:

Wow, 74 deaths from just New South Wales and Victoria.

Could be heading for a new tragic record daily death total today once the rest of the States report their numbers.

The State governments (and Scotty from Marketing) think they've done a great job making it look like the number of daily cases have dropped by a huge amount in the past few weeks by making it extremely difficult to people to get a PCR test or a RAT but the death and hospitalisation numbers still reveal the true story.

For now, at least. Until they find a way to try and make those look a lot better, of course.

not a bad set of rules bobby.

i suspect karnal is a bot.
possibly russian designed to stir up dissent in australia.
he doesnt post anything very useful and just seems to try to derail interesting conversations with childish nonsense.
its important that we are able to combine our brians and work out solutions so we can help people like jacinda who are really struggling.

she thinks she can hold back the tide but as we pointed out to dan, thats not possible.

dan is now on board as is anastasia.

thats thanks to our emails bobby.

imagine if karnal sent an email thru to dan or anastasia.
they would track it back to ozpolitics and think the forum was a load of dribble.
they would miss out on our wisdom.

jacinda said she might invite us to her wedding when she is finally allowed to have it

i think daniel from daniels donuts would make a fine best man

I agree, dear, but an email's not going to cut it. You and Bobby need to head over the pond to catch Jacinta in the flesh. She'll be busy, but you can do a walk and talk. That's thirty seconds, ten to really grab her.

Now your chode public servant would pull a graph out of his briefcase, but you want to change lives here, this is important stuff, you'll need to really knock her out.

Brut 33 - check. Toupee on straight - check. Mask on, teeth in - check. Bobby can help you out. Do your vocal exercises on the way in. Ha ha ha ha ha. Haw haw haw haw haw.

Make sure no one's watching when you drop the horse tranquiliser in her coffee, dear. That's the main thing. Remember, you need to build trust.

Bonus thought: 21/ Most people are fairly compassionate and have good intentions (this is good)
As a result, most people deeply struggle to understand that some people, including our 'leaders', CAN have malicious or perverse intentions (this is bad)."

Grin Unless you're being ignorant to the news ...

small to medium businesses have never been crying out so loud about doing it tough since the borders were opened

& the "let it rip" protocol adopted.

Many were back to making good money after the QLD lockdowns ceased & restrictions lifted here.

Some continued to do well despite Covid retsrictions.

Now people are still staying away in droves & only going out for the necessaries.

If you haven't seen that you're blind.

We're allowed to die now, the effectiveness of the two jabs has worn out and can't be done over again, too costly. In 2020 and 2021 we weren't allowed to die, Gladys and Dan got angry and Dan's henchmen slammed heads on hard floors, and the NSW govt made a $billion from fines .... they can't do those again either

There's no answers any more, so all we're hearing from the Officials is a load of Covid gobbledygook

That's what happened in South Australia.

In early November the hospitality industry was complaining about not making enough money and pushing to have the borders reopened and restrictions removed so they could go back to getting the tourist dollars as well as the local dollars.

They weren't just happy with the fact that the South Australian economy was moving along just fine with the locals out and about and spending money because there was no Covid around.

Well, they got their wish and SA opened up in late November but, as sure as the sun rises each day, the tourists and other arrivals brought Covid with them so now the hospitality industry is complaining they're not making money because people are not going out and spending because they're in isolation because they have or suspect they have Covid and almost everyone else is now staying home except to go out for essentials because they don't want to get Covid.

The same thing has also happened in Queensland and Tasmania since they reopened their borders.

It would all be quite hilarious if not for the fact that between 200 and 300 people are now dying every week in Australia.

18 deaths
reported in Queensland today.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-28/qld-covid-19-deaths-new-cases-omicron-wav...

(Annastacia tries to soften the blow by saying hospitalisations are down. Nice try but no cigar. And I still believe their new Chief Health Officer is an idiot).

That's
92
deaths in 3 States so far.

I strongly suspect we're going to reach 100 today. Cry

Good point. Bobby, point this out to Jacinta, please. Tell her it doesn't matter what she does with the borders, the chodes will still cower in fear when, instead, they could be going to the shopping malls and being awesome.

That's just the evolutionary blowtorch taking out the trash, Carl. We need to respect that.

Zinc, vitamin D, do your push ups, research Ivermectin and other non-patent treatments. That's the only way out of covid.

Big pharma won't save us, dear.

Good article in The Guardian today regarding the figures (NSW)

...

...

...

So because the sheer number of vaccinated people is far larger than the number of unvaccinated people, the total number of “breakthrough” cases outnumbers the number of cases among unvaccinated people.

This also means that total number of severe outcomes is potentially going to be larger. However, when these numbers are put into context as proportions of the total number of people in the state, the protective effect of vaccines is obvious.

When you plot the data as a proportion of cases by age group, you can see that although the risk goes up with age, it also shows vaccinated people of all age groups are less likely to die or require treatment in intensive care if they catch Covid:
