18th January 2022.

New South Wales..... 29,830 new cases and
36 deaths

Victoria.................. 20,180 new cases and
22 deaths

58 deaths in 24 hours from just 2 States.

Looks like the slogans are not working.

“Living with Covid”
“Keep Moving Forward”
“Pushing Through”
“Gear Change”
“Ride the Wave”
“Personal Responsibility”
“Looking out the front windscreen not in the rear view mirror.”

And, if this is what's happening in the middle of summer I dread to think what the upcoming winter will be like. The only good thing coming for next winter is that (hopefully) we'll have a new Federal government by then.

Coalition primary vote drops below Labor’s for the first time: Resolve survey

Quote:
Soaring virus infections have fuelled a backlash against Prime Minister Scott Morrison over his handling of the pandemic, slashing the Coalition’s primary vote from 39 to 34 per cent and vaulting Labor into a strong position ahead of this year’s federal election.

The dramatic shift has cut the government’s standing on every key measure of its performance, with voters losing confidence in Mr Morrison and the Coalition on the economy, jobs, health and the response to the coronavirus.

Call an election right now, Scott Morrison. Come on... I dare you.

8 million people in NSW.
326,000 active cases.
2850 in hospital.
209 in intensive care.
63 requiring ventilation.

Get a grip Carl, do the maths and stop believing the media fearmongering. Roll Eyes

On average, 464 people die in Australia every day.

In 2020 covid was number 38 on the list of causes of death....

Reassuring for the people who died from COVID, I'm sure.

The NSW Health Minister says he has been the victim of a fraudulent COVID test report and says those responsible for the "moronic" act will be punished.

Brad Hazzard said yesterday he received a notification from NSW Health that someone had registered a positive rapid antigen test (RAT) under his name.

The system for self-reporting RATs went live last week and — through the Service NSW app or website — people must register their positive result with details including their mobile number.

Mr Hazzard said whoever had made a fake report with his details was "juvenile" and "extremely irresponsible".

The Health Minister said police would "come hunting" for anyone who misrepresents information to NSW Health and could issue $5,000 fines.

"If you're caught you will have a  $5,000 fine but worse still, when you're telling your friends about that, they will probably tell you how stupid you are."

Sounds like Brad is a little butt hurt there.  Embarrassed

And, I wonder when Brad, Dominic and Scotty from Marketing et al. are going to be punished for the deaths, hospitalisations and economic chaos (especially for small businesses they've caused)?

I'm pretty sure that if I or anyone else here were responsible for so many Covid deaths we'd be in prison by now (and probably on death row if Australia still had capital punishment).

The hands of both governments are dripping with blood, they are totally responsible for those deaths

Paying the fines back would be the decent thing for them to do now, but they won't, so simply don't vote for them anymore, they're past their use-by date and eligibility to serve the Public

More people just died from covid in the last two days than the number of deaths in the Granville train disaster.

Quote:
..............  The state recorded 25 COVID-19 deaths following two of the deadliest days for NSW since the pandemic began.

One person who died was in their 30s and although they had received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, they had serious underlying health conditions.

Sixteen people had received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, one person had received one dose and eight were not vaccinated.         ..............

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-20/nsw-reports-25-covid-19-deaths/100768664

The vaccination rate is about 93%.
It saves lives.
