There were  2,566 new cases in NSW on December the 19th -
that's only  4 days ago so it's doubling every 4 days.
That means over 10,000 cases in 4 days from now
20,000 per day in 8 days time and
40,000 per day in 12 days time.

In England and the United states it is doubling every 2.4 days
Interestingly in South Africa it is halving every 2.4 days

This will be a short sharp very very high spike
And with any luck the majority of the population will emerge with some long-term immunity

It could very well spell the end of the pandemic

It's like having a big throbbing abscess on your leg

You can pick it with a pin every day for a year and have a miserable year
Or you can plunge a sharp blade Intuit and resolve the situation very quickly

The latter is certainly the more acutely painful but ultimately more successful strategy

Bobby our politicians don't really lead
They tend to see which way the mob is moving and then quickly get to the head of it

It's now becoming pretty obvious that continuing to chant vaccinate vaccinate vaccinate
When vaccinated people are going to universally be infected is not a fruitful strategy

And I am dead serious when I say the new variant looks very promising

The data from America and the UK seemed fairly clear
1/10 as deadly as Delta

I can't understand why people don't want this to spread
Because it is not omicron and delta you will be getting
It is omicron or Delta you will be getting

I think our politicians are slowly coming to understand this

Certainly the new health officer in Queensland is an incredible improvement on the previous health officer

My only issue is that all of the testing is incredibly expensive
And unlikely to change a damn thing

When we do reach hundreds of thousands per day
What will it even mean
If most of those people have barely any symptoms
They might as well just get on with what they were planning to do
