I bought a couple bags of chocolate during my groceries, yesterday. A milkybar assortments bag for $3.50. And some other confectionary for $3. Compared to when I was a child, this is a bargain price.

see .. and then you go on and on about your diet.

Stop buying that crap.

I have not gone on and on about my diet for a number of years, now. And I have lost weight, despite having a modest diet.

the exercise is just one part of it. The diet is the other equally important part.

You can't keep eating a whole heap of junk food and think walking with a weighted pack will save you

you remind me of a girl (about 17 or 18yrs of age)  I saw at woolies many years ago ... she was huge, and her and her mum were in the chip aisle. The girl grabbed four packets of crisps, and when her mum told her it was to many, the girl cried out that they were 'diet' crisps and therefore she could eat more of them

FFS people, get real.

The junk food in my grocery shopping the other day consisted of the chocolates, 2 lots of soft drinks, 4.5L of Coca Cola, and about 5L of milk. I had bought bacon and eggs, hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms, which I thought was unhealthy. But it does not seem too bad for me. The rest of the food is relatively healthy.

The only thing I have not done for a while is go for a walk. Only work has kept me in reasonable shape. And I starved through much of last night. This week's groceries have been the most unhealthy I have bought in a while. And I am not piling on the weight like I did several years ago. It is the exercise. Resistance training.

I think it is just a psychological spark about eating diet crisps. Years ago, a co-worker was at a staff party with me. She said she was going on a diet. I had the bright idea to ask why she was eating chips if she was going on a diet. She told me that they were vegie chips and that they were healthy. Well, a year later, she had lost a lot of weight (perhaps 20 or 30kg) and she seemed dedicated to losing more. Maybe that girl you saw was just motivating herself to start to lose weight.

It's like the ones who buy hot chips with gravy for lunch, but always get Diet Coke to wash it down.

Bacon & eggs are healthy foods.

As are tomatoes and mushrooms.

Forget the chocolates and Coke.

You have the option of buying 600mL water for $3. Or a 600mL soft drink for $4.50. These days, I bring my own water to the cinema to watch a movie. Not paying at least $5 for a soft drink.

The price is irrelevant.

If water is $10 a bottle, and Coke is $5, you still buy the water.

It's a no-brainer.
