The result was what you would expect. I would have deleted many of the posts - particularly the ones which were nothing but pure insults with no other content.

It was a particularly successful phishing expedition where the perpetrator finished sitting on the sideline being defended and consoled while several of the targets and regular goon squad members were busy making fools of themselves.

1 to the point of suspension.

Deleting the topic 2 days ago would have squashed the problem at the root cause. Any Topic built on personal criticism is against the rules and should be deleted.
